Selle Italia Flite Flow Friction Free Saddle

The last five years the Flite Flow series has known many developments. The saddle is entirely ergonomically designed. The Selle Italia Flite Friction Free Flow has extra padding for added comfort around the sit bones. The saddle has a Lorica saddle cover. The titanium rails provide a compromise between a light-weight rail and a solid rail. The Flow Flite is placed in the L1 category by Selle Italia. This means that the saddle is suitable for a rider with wide sit bones and a low flexibility of the pelvis.

Friction Free
Friction Free saddles have a narrower nose which reduces tremendously the friction between the inside of the upper legs against the side of the saddle. The energy one saves can be up to 0.7 W per pedal stroke, about 70 W/min. This way less energy is needed for the last 20 degrees of the pedal movement. Besides, there is less pressure on the sciatic nerve and the popliteal artery and vein (to the lower leg and foot).
