Cheap finish making product worthless

Unfortunately, this pump is worthless for my road bike. It does not fit a French valve. I tried using an add-on valve, but then it pops off after only one pump stroke. I have had its predecessor for years and it was fantastic, but this one sucks. I haven't tried it on a car valve.
