Pirelli P Zero Race RS

The product is of excellent quality and offers good value for money. These are the second pair I’ve had – the first came with the bike – and given how reliable they’ve been, I’ve decided to stick with the same brand; I’ve only changed the model, opting out of the TLR as I don’t use tubeless tyres.

Pros & Cons

Rides like a dream, definitely the fastest tyre on the market. BUT: lasts a maximum of 300 km under normal road use. After that, you can actually throw the tyre away. I rode the tyre on two one-day stages, exclusively on good asphalt. After that, the tyre had hundreds of small cracks and fissures and was practically unusable. Unfortunately, Mantel didn't want to meet me with a guarantee and argued that sunlight shortens the life of the tyre. I don't know how to protect a tyre from the sun when riding a road bike, but apparently Pirelli markets this tyre to the general public, but based on my experience it was developed more for professional teams who dispose of it after a stage. Not recommended unless you're happy to throw away €80.

Very fast tyre and easy to roll and you can see that is the priority. Performance in focus and longevity in the back of your mind. You definitely get what you pay for if it is performance you are looking for. Always a plus when the tyre is easy to mount and does not require tools.
