Pros & Cons

The bags offer plenty of storage space and are very robust. Closing, attaching and removing the bags is playfully simple and done in seconds, even when fully packed. Due to the solid back they also remain standing. The waterproofness I could not yet check, because in their first use only bright sunshine prevailed. The bags are also odorless! A clear buy recommendation!

Great rear pannier backs, waterproof, easy to attach, sturdy and fairly fashionable. As they allow enough adjustment to set them back (away from your feet when pedaling) I am using them in both, my folding and my road bikes. Highly recommended.

I'm looking for bike bags and knew that the company Ortlieb made very good. after a long search I found this. I can only say that it has helped me a lot on a bike tour. It is also possible to take clothes for more than a week.

Looks great and very tough, top fastening and fitting to bike could be better. The top fastening is a bit fiddly requiring folding and a bit of tugging to attach to fastener, this could be improved. The attachment to the pannier frame particularly at the bottom of each pannier isn't great but I think this will depend on the shape and diameter of your frame. Overall I am happy and the price and shipping to UK was very good.

Really good quality panniers. Easy to attach and remove from bike. A tiny bit tricky to close but that's just being picky. Definitely recommend.

This is a great product which will last for a very long time, but, if i had given it a little more thought I would probably have gone for a version which allowed easier and quicker access. It’s a great click and release system; faultless. And appears to be totally waterproof; plus,at the price was a bargain. What’s not to like. The service was really fast and I would recommend them. All things considered i am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to enjoying my panniers in the season ahead.

I bought the Ortlieb Back Roller City panniers as a birthday present for my daughter, who is a keen commuting cyclist, to transport often precious cargo to work. My partner already has a pair of Ortliebs which he's used on many cycling adventures so they already came highly recommended. My daughter is just as thrilled with hers: waterproofness, spaciousness, strength, weight, durability, ease at removing and visibility. To top it off, price and swiftness of delivery were unbeatable! Thank you Mantel and Ortlieb!

Very pleased with the Ortlieb panniers. Very good design and robust to meet the challenges of British weather. Great idea to add reflective panels. A good safety feature.

I bought these for a forthcoming 12 day cycle tour in Spain and have tried them out a couple of times in UK. I had previously thought Ortlieb bags were too expensive but the quoted price is for two panniers which is fantastic value and provides plenty of space for touring. These are properly waterproof which means you don't have to worry about rain covers or stuffing your items into plastic bags. The fitting and removal is easy peasy.
