In terms of safety, this light is top-notch, and in flashing mode you can really see it from a long way off. However, I used it when Bikepacking and had a full day in the rain. The lamp stopped working, even when it was dried out, so it's not waterproof. So now when it rains I put it away in a pocket... Another point is that the battery indication is totally random, whether on my Garmin 1030 or via the little red and green LEDs built in. After a charge, sometimes the LED is green, but more often it stays red, as if it were discharged, and the same goes for the Garmin 1030, three quarters of the time it tells me the battery is low even though it's recharged (and this has no effect on the battery life).
