Mavic Crossmax 29 Boost MTB Wheels

The Mavic Crossmax MTB wheels have been the most popular Mavic MTB wheels in our range for years. And that is not without reason! These wheels are strong, reliable and durable. Add the tubeless UST system and you have an all-round wheelset that can handle anything. As the Mavic Crossmax wheels have wide rims with a 25 mm internal width, they allow you to ride with tyres from 46 mm to 64 mm (1.8" to 2.5"). This makes the wheels very stable, and they give you more confidence on descents or in muddy conditions.

The Mavic Crossmax is equipped with durable, well-sealed and adjustable Mavic QRM bearings. Dirt and moisture are less likely to affect the bearings, which increases their lifespan. The Crossmax wheels feel stiff and direct due to the 24 straight pull spokes at the front and rear. The Mavic Instant Drive 360 (ID360) hub has an engagement of only 9 degrees, which means the Crossmax engages super fast the moment you apply power to your pedals. The ID360 freehub body is typically used in Mavic's high-end wheels, which makes the Crossmax excellent value for money.

Mavic Care
Mavic Care allows you to extend your warranty to 3 years by registering your purchased wheelset on Mavic's website within 30 days. It also activates the crash replacement option which allows you to get up to 40% discount on a comparable product. You are eligible for this option if your wheel can no longer be repaired after a crash.

MyMavic app
The MyMavic app (available from the App Store and Google Play) will advise on the correct tyre width and pressure to suit your rim width and surface.

(UST) Universal Standard for Tubeless
The rim is ready for riding without an inner tube. The tubeless tape is pre-installed. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort while reducing inertia and punctures.

Instant Drive 360
The Instant Drive 360 freewheel body system is super light and engages quickly with 9 degrees of engagement. A large rubber seal minimises friction and accessibility. An oversized axle and the hardened aluminium freehub save 40 grams.

Type of freehub body for 12 speed
Some 12-speed cassettes must be mounted on the 10/11-speed Shimano/SRAM freehub body. These are SRAM NX Eagle PG-1230 cassettes and almost all other 12-speed MTB cassettes with 11 as the lowest sprocket. MTB cassettes with a 10 lowest sprocket need a special freehub body: For Shimano this is a Micro-Spline freehub and for SRAM an XD freehub.
