Garmin Varia RCT715 Radar Rear Bike Light

The Garmin Varia RCT715 is the first rear view radar with camera and rear light. If an accident does happen, you can watch the images on the Garmin Varia app. The Garmin Varia RCT715 works together with your Garmin Edge bike computer, Garmin smartwatch and even some bike computers from other brands. Because the RCT715 has both ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity, you can also pair the Rearview Radar with your smartphone. The Garmin Varia App will then notify you on your smartphone of any traffic coming up behind.

With visibility of up to 1.6km in daylight, drivers can see you driving from a long distance away. Your visibility is enhanced because the Garmin Varia automatically changes light modes when traffic approaches. The Garmin Varia RCT715 has a battery life of up to 16 hours.

Radar technology
The Garmin Varia Radar uses radio waves to detect traffic ahead. The smart rear light emits radio waves constantly while cycling. When a car comes up behind you, the radio waves bounce off it. A sensor in the Varia captures these returning radio waves and communicates them to your bike navigation system. So you know when a car is coming!
