Description

Description

The AGU Winter Rain Commuter cycling gloves are lightweight and keep your hands warm and dry in harsh winter conditions. These cycling gloves are particularly suitable for use on city bikes and/or e-bikes.

Technology

These cycling gloves offer the following properties.

Insulating and both wind- and waterproof
The AGU Winter Rain Commuter gloves have a good insulating capacity from the inside, which helps to keep your hands nice and warm in the winter cold. They are also both wind- and waterproof to offer protection against cutting winds and precipitation. The chance of your hands overheating is very small thanks to the good breathability of these cycling gloves.

Gel padding, leather palm and fingers
These cycling gloves have a gel padding for more comfort on rougher roads. The palm and fingers have a leather layer, which also contributes to long-lasting comfort in the winter. The elastic cuffs fit snugly around the wrists.

Operate touchscreens with the index finger
The index finger of the AGU Winter Rain Commuter glove is touchscreen compatible. This means that you don't have to take your glove off to be able to use your smartphone or bike navigation system. Thanks to the reflective elements, you're also highly visible in dark conditions.

Does not do what is promised

- Erwin 18 March 2022

So-called wind and waterproof, but the wind comes right through. Still cold hands.

Big disappointment. Waterproof? Forget it !

- Ed 17 February 2022

Purchased these gloves specifically to stay dry in rain. After all, that is what was promised. Especially since I regularly get on my bike several times a day and wet gloves are no fun then. I normally wear size XL. However, the fingers were considerably too short so exchanged for 3XL. These fit just about right in length, although they are now too wide in width. So fit is so-so. The inner lining is of very poor quality and is loose, so the gloves are not always easy to put on. Sometimes it's just frumpy. And then the biggest disappointment: a few drops of water will hold them back, but on my first ride in the rain, they were soaked after only half an hour. Once I got home I let them hang to dry, only to find the next day that they were still wet. Unfortunately, they also dry poorly. My 'regular' gloves dry faster. In short: a big mis-buy, which I will definitely not recommend. As they were not cheap and nevertheless do not live up to the promised properties, I hope Mantel will come up with a suitable compensation.

Pros & Cons

Do what they are supposed to do: keep wind and water out and therefore stay warm to the touch

- Ger 23 October 2021

Purchased these gloves to be able to continue cycling to work with the S-pedelec next winter. I have now found them to be wind- and waterproof. Lowest temperature so far has been around 5 degrees. I wonder how they will hold up in lower temperatures. With hindsight, I could have easily taken a size bigger to be able to combine them with thin undergloves if the temperature drops below freezing.

Pros & Cons

Waterproof
Windproof
On the small side; preferably take a larger size
