Delightful upgrade , and looks sleek!

- Michel 6 December 2022

Since I also have Absolut Black ovals on the MTBs I decided to do the same on my road bike. So instead of my Tiagra 50-34 I got AB ovals in the same size. They are a lot lighter and look tight. Oval's are easy to get used to, so that wasn't a problem. I noticed for myself that it was easier to keep my speed when the wind was against me and the hills in Limburg went nicely. So for me they will stay on them. Is it better? In any case not less, so for me it's fine!

Pros & Cons

feels better
Lighter
looks tight
For some cranks you have to order bolts

You just have to use this product.

Oval blades should have been fitted years ago. Power transmission is much more even, cadence much better to hold.

Pros & Cons

Easy mounting
Lots of smooth movement and cadence retention
Shimano nuts fit perfectly

Higher speed for the same effort

- Gael 19 March 2021

Great sensations from the first few kilometres, the impression that the whole leg was warming up for the first half hour was confirmed afterwards, you were pushing and pulling at the same time, more muscles were working so at the end of the ride your usual muscles were less tired and there were no cramps.

Pros & Cons

Less fatigue at the end of the ride
No more dead centre
Terrific look

Too early to draw conclusions

- Albert 12 December 2020

I ordered both chainrings in 36/52 and have now covered 350km. Fitted and adjusted without too much difficulty. As soon as I started pedalling, it was easy to turn my legs, but very quickly I got the impression that I had to keep pushing all the time, which was hard to take at first. I didn't notice any improvement in performance on my test sections - quite the opposite, in fact - but they were surprisingly faster than my usual 95km outing. (31 average speed for 29.5 with the circles)? On longer rides ???? To be seen as soon as the good weather returns. I'm a bit divided at the moment. As I'm a small rider (1.71m for 68kl), I think these chainrings are better suited to big, powerful riders. However, it seems to me that it's a bit early to say. In fact, according to some studies, it takes 1000 km of use for the body to fully adapt to this way of pedalling, so?

Pros & Cons

Few aches and pains
Look
Too early to tell
