Points forts & points faibles
Points forts & points faibles
- Ultra-light 300 Series Alpha Aluminium significantly reduces overall weight, making the bike more responsive and dynamic when climbing.
- Aerodynamic tube shapes guide airflow more efficiently, making you go faster on windy flat stretches.
- The carbon fork reduces front-end weight and ensures precise steering response.
- H1.5 geometry puts you in a well balanced riding position so that your power is transferred as efficiently as possible.
- The clearance for tyres up to 28 mm limits the frame's usability on dirt roads.
- An aluminium frame will never be as stiff and responsive as a carbon frame but does provide more comfort.

Trek's lightweight Emonda ALR Disc aluminium race frame gives you the speed and dynamics of a high-end carbon model but with a more pocket-friendly price tag. Thanks to its aerodynamic tube shapes and optimised racing geometry, this road bike frame delivers highly efficient power transfer. The sleek design with integrated cable routing ensures sharp handling and a fast and responsive ride on any route.
The Trek Emonda ALR Disc race frame is made of 300 Series Alpha Aluminium, an ultralight, high-quality material that is treated with hydroforming to achieve its specific forms. Thus, the frame offers a perfect balance between stiffness and weight. The tubes are joined together using an innovative invisible welding technology, which improves the structural tube connection, increases overall strength and reduces unnecessary material use. The construction is designed around the H1.5 race geometry, resulting in an optimal position to put power on the pedals. At the front is a full-carbon fork with a tapered carbon steerer tube. This lightweight fork excels at dampening road vibrations, delivering sharp, stable, and incredibly direct handling.
Aerodynamics
Besides the strong aluminium base, the Emonda frame offers several finishing details that reduce drag and increase functionality. The frame tubes have special Kammtail aerodynamic shapes that direct airflow around the bike more efficiently for extra speed on flat sections as well as climbs. To enhance this sleek profile, the cabling runs completely internally through the frame, ensuring a tidy cockpit and better aerodynamics. The bike is equipped with modern flat-mount disc brakes that are more compact and lighter than traditional systems and guarantee consistent braking performance in good and bad weather conditions. The painted frame weighs just 1257 grams in size 56, and the fork weighs 406 grams. Furthermore, the stem is Blendr-compatible to enable clean integration of bike computers and lights.
Compatibility and fit
The Emonda ALR Disc race frame is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains. While the maximum chainring size for a 1x setup is 48T, a 2x setup supports up to 53/39T with Shimano or 48/35T with SRAM. For wheel mounting, the frame uses Bontrager Switch thru-axles: 12x100 mm at the front and 142x12 mm at the rear. The fork and swingarm offer clearance for tyre widths up to 28 mm. The brake system is compatible with disc brake rotors with a maximum diameter of 160 mm front and rear.
