excellent product
Easy to unpack and install. Does take some getting used to (first indoor trainer), especially very fashion

Fine smart trainer.
Setup and installation is easy. The housing was more flexible than the tacx. Connecting via Bluetooth or Ant+ pretty easy. The included shims make it easy to mount my 10s cassette and run properly.

Excellent training device
After much doubt between Taxc Flux 2 and Direto XR went for the latter. After 1.5 weeks and 6 workouts satisfied except display cadence and power on Swift. May be better with Ant+. I still have to try that.

Best for features in this price range
The product arrived at my home after only two days, I was amazed! Once you open the package in less than ten minutes you can already start pedaling.I can't compare with other rollers but it seems pretty quiet. It also has a front wheel lock included in the package. Trying it on Zwift I appreciated the speed with which it changes effort intensity as the gradient changes, practically immediate, as if you were on the road. I can only be highly satisfied with it

Great product x climbers
Very good product, simulates pedaling very well round and real even in changes of pace, fully interactive and easy setup, accurate power meter (compared with faveroduo pedals).
Pros & Cons

Good investment
Good for cycling through in slippery autumn winter months indoors
Pros & Cons
4 / 5
good product, reliable, quiet, for fun use on platforms.
I chose the Direto model over the Suito just because of the 24% slope simulation. With hindsight, I don't think that's the main criterion. This type of percentage is extreme and does not represent a need for training on a home trainer.

Okay, but with flaws
Been using the Elite Direto XR since the end of October. Service at Mantel excellent, they even fitted the new cassette to the trainer on request. Chose the Elite because of Campagnolo 10-speed compatibility (with extra hub to be purchased), which for example the Saris H3 I actually had my eye on does not have. Still, there are some criticisms of the Direto. Firstly, watch out that you don't - as I did - accidentally pull the sticker off the trainer, because apparently you lose the warranty by doing so. A strange story. Next, the Elite doesn't really feel premium, it's mostly hard plastic that all doesn't feel super-sturdy. No idea how this is with other cycletrainers, by the way. Also, occasionally things don't go quite right between the Direto and Zwift. Sometimes, at the start of a ride, the Direto gives a huge amount of resistance that you can't really pedal through and you have to restart to get it working again. A problem I've also seen on the internet. However, the biggest problem with mine is that it makes some strange and disturbing noises (presumably the flywheel) that really don't belong. Reported under warranty to Mantel, I'm sure given their service it will be fine. Still, yet another confirmation that it all doesn't really feel premium. Otherwise, the Direto in itself cycles nicely, although I have no comparison material with other trainers. To the review writer of 5 December last: the phenomenon that you don't experience extra resistance when climbing a slope in Zwift is probably because then the ERG mode in Zwift is on. Is not due to the trainer.

The Direto XR is easy to use.
I am currently using Zwift on my Elite Direto XR I have found while using zwift that the performance displayed on the screen does not match reality at all, the revolutions constantly fluctuate with very large differences e.g. from 40 to 90 while I am sure I am pedalling around 90 revolutions, The speed isn't right either and the percentages of incline don't match reality either, if I ride up a 10% incline at 120w according to the display on the screen, I don't feel any difference compared to normally pedalling at 120w, I then pedal at 90 revolutions and barely ride 6km/h. I have the impression that the speed, the revolutions, the inclines don't match reality at all, I can't check the wattage. Could this be due to certain settings or the Bluetooth connection? Of the Elite Direto XR they say that it reflects reality up to less than 2% difference.

Probably the Smart roller with the best price/quality ratio
Easy to fit and complete with all adapters to use on virtually all recent racing bikes. The 105 11s sprocket set also works with my campagnolo record 11s rear derailleur. Clearly if you want to fit a campagnolo sprocket set you need the body. As soon as it was connected to the light it automatically connected to Zwift and from then on your attention is only directed to the screen because once you get on the Direto XR saddle you forget about it. Placed on a 0.6mm mat vibration and noise are almost reduced to zero, only the noise of the chain and any shifting remains. Shipping was very quick and the packaging was excellent. Fully satisfied.

Connected home trainer
The home trainer works perfectly. It takes a good hour to set up, but especially to connect your PC. It's better to connect to a PC using ANT+ rather than Bluetooth, which is much less stable (you'll need a USB key for the PC). With a bit of training in pedalling fluidity, in order to develop linear power, zwift or rouvy (or others) will accompany you on all your training sessions and virtual outings. Reaction to the 'stress of the terrain' takes place with a lag of one or 2 seconds, but that's quite acceptable. The power measured is very close to reality (around 1%) if a calibration is carried out every 2 or 3 training sessions (to be done with the Elite software). In short, a top-notch home trainer for perfecting your fitness during the winter months!

Flawless home trainer
As easy to install as it is to store. Connects simply and instantly : - iPhone, iPad and Mac via Bluetooth for use with Zwift or other applications, - Garmin Fenix connected watch or Garmin heart rate monitor. You can then use all the programmes offered by Zwift or Garmin.

Complete but
This equipment is surprising for the uninitiated and simulates the terrain perfectly, sometimes too much so if you compare it to a familiar road course. It's easy to get to grips with, but the settings help is frankly lacking, which is the most important thing to start with. I had to buy an ANT dongle and a Lightning, but it's not easy to find one without an explanation from the supplier, which adds considerably to the budget. As for the purchase from MANTEL and the delivery, it was simply impeccable as usual.

Excellent!
First of all, congratulations to Mantel. They are very precise about the restocking date, so don't delay when stock is available, as this home trainer is very much in demand. I was on the lookout for it and it was delivered within 48 hours. Absolutely incredible responsiveness, congratulations Mantel. As far as the home trainer is concerned, it's pretty responsive when the profile goes up, and you can also feel the drafting effect. I haven't yet tested it in training mode with targeted watts. I've also noticed that it's fairly quiet. On the downside, I don't find it very stable laterally. From 450w upwards, if you wiggle a bit, it wobbles quite a bit.

Super Smarttrainer
Top Smarttrainer at a great price!

disillusionment part 2
and on top of that, in some tests I have done with bkool, the stiffening is delayed depending on the slope of the route. in bkool fitness it doesn't stiffen by itself, I have to use the option to press on the screen to stiffen the roller when doing segments of different power. I'll keep testing it because I've only used it 4 times, but I thought it would work better.
3 / 5
disappointment
The bluetooth connection fails and can't be used. And on top of that, the bkool simulator does not show this Direto XR model and it connects to Elite Trainer, which looks like a generic ANT+ one. Is there any way to update this by Elite or BKOOL?

Excellent purchase
Elite direto xr is my first interactive roller, i'm using it with the zwift app, as i had read in other reviews impossible to get to reality, (slightly more tiring i don't know if it depends on the app) but i have to say it comes very close, small things to improve (e.g. the start). I recommend the purchase for a great winter workout

Total satisfaction
Extremely fast reception. This equipment allows me to train every day and my preconceptions about home drag disappeared very quickly. I'm delighted. I'm delighted.

When you simulate climbing a hill, it takes several seconds (between 5 and 10 seconds) for the roller to simulate the slope of that hill.

Very good equipment. Very smooth, fluid pedalling.
Lame associated application. Unintuitive and useless. Shame at the price of the device. Pedal stroke analysis is apparently not free! It's mind-boggling how much you can expect to pay for the equipment!

Excellent roller
Device that gives you a real pedalling sensation I recommend it
5 / 5
perfect I would say
An excellent product for those who really love cycling. It gives you the possibility to train at home, on your own bike and is perfect especially for those with little time. Quiet, it pushes you beyond your limits. Combined then with the specific online platforms for training or racing, you get the chance to really feel like you are competing with others. I recommend it to everyone, even those who think they should get a spinning bike instead for training. The comparison doesn't hold up.

The ideal training machine
For me a very good investment, easy to install and use, integrated power sensor, cassette supplied, front wheel support and several codes for application trial periods.

ergonomic.
Smooth and pleasant to pedal. However, above a 15% gradient, you can feel the 'slippage'. Otherwise, you need to remember to calibrate the machine, and the Etraining software package is not up to the quality of this home trainer.

Excellent product
Meets expectations. Very good quality product, very well packaged. Works very well with Zwift. However, there are virtually no instructions supplied (and they're not very clear), so it's complicated to fit if you're not used to it.

Discovery
I am discovering that one can train well even with little time for someone who, like me, had given up for several years
