As the set weighs just 1,380 grams, you will notice immediately how effortlessly you fly up steep gravel climbs. The carbon spokes ensure a stiff build without compromising comfort on uneven terrain.
30 mm internal rim width
This extra-wide internal width provides perfect support for wide gravel tyres. This gives the tyre a much neater profile and prevents it from rolling in fast corners. Thus, you can ride safely at lower tyre pressure for maximum grip and vibration damping.
Carbon spokes with a 2:1 lacing pattern
The wheelset uses lightweight, stiff carbon spokes laced in a 2:1 ratio (21 spokes at the front, 24 at the rear) to ensure the spoke tension is optimally balanced on both sides. The result: maximum stiffness when accelerating and reliability on rough terrain.
One-piece titanium 60T ratchet freehub
The rear hub is fitted with a one-piece machined titanium ratchet freehub. Titanium is extremely strong and corrosion-resistant, making it ideal for use in muddy and damp conditions. Thanks to the 60 ratios and an engagement angle of just 6°, the chain engages instantly with every pedal stroke.
Compatible with:
- Gravel and all-road frames with a 12x100 mm thru-axle at the front and a 12x142 mm thru-axle at the rear
- Gravel tyres with an ETRTO width of 40 to 60 mm (compatible with tubeless use and inner tubes)
- Disc brakes with Center Lock disc mounting
Not compatible with:
- Narrow road bike tyres under 40 mm wide; the rims are too wide for these.
Not sure? Here’s how to check: Remove your current wheels and measure the mounting width and thickness of your thru-axles (standard is 12x100 mm at the front and 12x142 mm at the rear). Also check the type of cassette currently fitted to your rear wheel to choose the correct freehub body.
In the box:
- Elitewheels Drive G50 CS front wheel
- Elitewheels Drive G50 CS rear wheel
- Rim tape (pre-fitted)
- Tubeless valves (pre-fitted)
- Spare carbon spokes (4x)
Not included / still required
- Tubeless sealant
- Brake rotors and lock rings
- Cassette (and possibly a new chain)
- Gravel tyres (40–60 mm)
What tools do you need?
- Cassette removal tool
- Chain whip or sprocket remover tool
- Center Lock tool (or bracket tool, depending on the lockring)
- Torque wrench
Would you rather have us install your new wheels? Our mechanics at the Mantel Superstores (Arnhem, Den Bosch, Rotterdam, Utrecht) will be happy to fit the wheels and components for you.
Correct tyre pressure
Make best use of the 30 mm internal rim width by riding with low tyre pressure (often between 1.8 and 2.5 bar, depending on your weight and tyre width). This gives you much better grip and more comfort on gravel.
Cleaning after muddy rides
After a very wet or muddy ride, do not hose down the hubs with a high-pressure washer. Rather, rinse the wheels with a gentle jet of water and dry them with a clean cloth.
Replacing tubeless sealant
Do you ride tubeless? Top up the liquid sealant every 3 to 6 months for optimal puncture protection.
The difference lies in the spokes: Whereas the current G50 CS version has ultra-light carbon spokes, the G50 SS version is fitted with traditional steel spokes. This means that the G50 CS set weighs less (1,380 grams) and offers maximum stiffness for fast gravel races and climbs. The G50 SS set, then, provides a little more refinement and vibration damping on rough terrain.
What is the maximum weight for the Elitewheels Drive G50 CS gravel wheelset?
The maximum system weight for the G50 CS set is 120 kg. This is the combined total weight of the rider, the bike and any luggage.
What type of brake disc mount do the Elitewheels Drive G50 CS wheels have?
The G50 CS wheelset is only compatible with Center Lock disc brake rotors. If you are currently riding with 6-bolt disc brake rotors, you can use a Center Lock adapter or switch directly to Center Lock disc brake rotors.
What comes as standard in the box with the Elitewheels Drive G50 CS wheels?
When you order the G50 CS wheelset, you get the front and rear wheels as well as pre-fitted tubeless rim tape, pre-fitted tubeless valves, and four spare carbon spokes. Disc brake rotors, lockrings and a cassette are not included.
What tyre widths can I use with the Elitewheels Drive G50 CS wheels?
The G50 CS wheels have a 30 mm inner rim width and are optimised for wide gravel tyres ranging from 40 mm to 60 mm (40C - 60C). Narrow road bike tyres with widths under 40 mm are not compatible with these wide rims.
