The Castelli Aero Race 2 overshoes offer just what is needed to keep out the wind and as much rain as possible, without adding much weight or bulk. They only include what is absolutely necessary to serve their purpose – less really is more here.
The fabric stretches well to sit snugly around your shoe for an aerodynamic fit, and blocks out wind and water. A silicone strip on the inside of the cuff keeps water out and holds the overshoe firmly in place, and a long zip makes it easy to put on and take off. If you are mainly expecting wind and rain in mild to cool temperatures, the Aero Race 2 shoe covers are an excellent choice. If you are expecting lower temperatures, towards freezing, choose lined winter overshoes from Castelli's range.
- Wash the overshoes at a maximum of 30°C, inside out, for best care of the PU coating and silicone strip.
- Leave to air-dry; the tumble dryer will damage the waterproof coating.
- Check the zip regularly for dirt; if there is any, remove it so that the waterproofing remains effective.
