Nice wheelset, makes for a very comfortable ride

Upgraded my BMC RoadMachine with the 404 Firecrest. Never thought it would make such a big difference! Rides like on rails and is really fast!!! At the same time, this was the jump to tubeless and hookless for me, which made me a little uneasy at first. In fact, mounting the GP 5000 S TR in 28mm was no problem with a few tricks from the net. Pumping without a compressor was also possible. With milk, everything is tight so far. The wheels are very good quality and look great! What could (still) be better: - Put the freewheel and seal better in thin grease/oil. At the beginning it was rather stiff. - On the inside of the wheels (straight flanks), there are visible seams from production that could be better worked.

Replacing the Reynolds with the Zipp's. A first test in 'De Moeren' by the sea and a clear difference in responsiveness, engagement point and speed tout court. And despite the high rim, no wind problems. Top!

Pros & Cons

Long-term test still pending, but the first rides suggest a lot. Significantly higher speeds from 30 km/h.

Despite their profile of almost 60, they do not penalize on climbs. On uneven roads they behave great, they are super comfortable and fast.

If you want to lower the weight of your bike and make it more aerodynamic you cant go wrong with these wheels. setting them up is a bit hard because of the tubeless tires but after that they drive like a dream.

Very fast, but also comfortable wheelset that can be used both on the flat and on climbs due to the low weight and is pleasant to ride. With these wheels every ride feels like with tailwind. An absolute upgrade that I can only recommend. Also the assembly went, although I drive the first time Tubeless, without problems.

In my view, a very good wheelset with optimal price / performance ratio. Due to the low weight also in the mountains very effective wheelset, the bike reacts even more agile and high Durchachnittsgeschwindigkeiten are even better to achieve. The freewheel has a very pleasant, but well audible sound that just makes fun!

Great service by the Mantel colleagues with the extra service of installing tubeless tires. saved another week of sore thumbs and will definitely come back for similar products and service.

The wheelset is very versatile. From fast flat stages to mountain tours with many meters of altitude. Relatively low crosswind susceptibility.
