I used to have another chain punch with a handle that was much too small. Sometimes you have to use quite a bit of force to unscrew a link, so this one with its large handle works much better. I should have had it years earlier.

Pros & Cons

First use was good, the whole thing feels solid and is easy to grip. The sliding thingy that secures the link works quite well and the pin went out of the link easily. This was with a new chain though.

Great tool for work with shear pins, sits comfortably in the hand, sturdy, turns easily.

You can apply considerable force during the punching itself, partly due to the large size of wings on the handle. Also usable for 12 speed chain

After first having had a BTL-55, I finally switched to this one and what a world of difference. Very solid product, easy to hold and power is a breeze. I would highly recommend it!

Good chain punch. Pin out takes little force, also works with 9-speed KMC.
