Northwave Celsius XC GTX

Not waterproof and impossible to get dry after a wet trip
The shoe is sold as waterproof. However, my feet are completely soaked from the rain after an hour of cycling in dry weather over wet roads. As a result, my feet once again become icy cold. I store the shoes indoors, in a heated storage room; even after a week, the shoes and 'sock' are still completely soaked from the inside.

Absolutely not hot
Shoes are sold as winter shoes and touted as one of the warmest shoes in Mantel's range. It is even said that at temperatures above freezing, the shoes quickly become too warm. Another plus point of the shoe is said to be that they are fully waterproof. Unfortunately, I have found that the real thing is different after all. After cycling in temperatures just and/or well above freezing point, the shoes were not warm, feet just stayed cold. When cycling in rain, I also found that the shoes are not at all waterproof and this has nothing to do with whether you put your trousers inside the shoe. In short, should you be looking for warm and waterproof winter cycling shoes, skip these and choose another type of shoe that does keep your feet warm and dry.

Good value for money
Fast delivery of a very good product. I definitely recommend the Northwave Celsius for cold, wet rides. It hasn't been freezing cold yet though (below 0 degrees). At the top, the "sock" does not fit well. You can't tighten or tighten it either. You can possibly pull your long trousers over it, but moving around a lot makes the trousers shoot up anyway. Definitely take one size bigger than your shoe size. Don't forget to order SPD plates.

Good quality.
They are a bit expensive but if you go out a lot in winter I think they are worth it.

The perfect MTB winter shoe
Warm feet guaranteed. At -10 may definitely put on a thicker stocking. Easy to put on and take off .

Waterproof but not warm.
Purchased these shoes as warm winter shoes. Unfortunately, after a small test run of several KMs, they turned out to be too cold at an outside temperature of 6-7 degrees. Fortunately Mantel's great service allowed me to exchange them for a pair of Arctic's, which fortunately are nice and warm.

De perfecte winterschoen
Met deze schoenen fiets ik nu zonder koude voeten de winter door. Snel aan en uit en makkelijk aan te spannen met de draaiknop.

If you don't have winter boots, this is a great choice.
Little to say, they are the second ones I've worn. They maintain the temperature of the foot and are very comfortable and rigid.

Great shoe.
Done some tours in temperatures below and above 5°C. In dry weather below 5°c still okay, in wet weather cold feet under this temperture, but dry.

Comfortable mountain bike shoes
They are fine MTB shoes, putting them on takes some getting used to, adjusting them with a button is fine. The shoes are waterproof, but not boots. After 2 hours of cycling at -2°C, the soles of the feet were slightly cold. At 4 hours at 11°C no sweaty feet. So fine range of use. At -4°C neoprene overshoes used also went well. Grip is good due to the coarser profile, clicking into spd pedal is slightly more difficult than with summer shoes.
