Mantel 7-12 Speed

Unfortunately, this chain punch is really a waste of money. Whereas a normal punch can shorten a chain without too much force, this one works differently. I did not manage to get it done without leverage. As a result, the punch is now also damaged, though. I would add the money for a reliable punch. Saves a lot of hassle and frustration. Unfortunately!

Useful for cutting a new chain to size, but impossible to use on an old rusty chain without a quick link, the chain tool would break; so I used the hacksaw for that.

Does what it needs to do. Ideal for resizing your 12-speed chain. The pin is narrow enough to loosen your chain without damaging it.

The handle is too small to hold when you need to press to turn the wheel. This is total rubbish.

Have owned the chain and speed chain punch for 2 weeks now and the punch has already done its job satisfactorily the chain I am also very satisfied with so far.

Handle broken on first use. The lever is also very small which made it very difficult for me to push the pin out of my chain. Finally broke the handle and put a pair of pliers on it, then it worked.

It does t fine but I needed a sturdy screwdriver that I had to put through the hole in the handle to get enough arm/moment. And I dare call myself pretty strong. Slightly longer handle would be nice. Then again, how often do you use such a thing...it's sturdy enough

Briefly hesitated to buy it due to some negative reviews. Have since used it to shorten a new chain and if you center the pin in the middle of the link it comes out easily. Of course you have to use a little more force than the larger pliers. All in all satisfied for occasional use, especially for this price!

I used it to mount my chain that I bought on the site, but for the workshop I will invest in a larger model that fits better in the hand.
