Top rims at a top price.

- Martijn, 30 July, 2025

Great carbon rims, great value for money. Very satisfied with this set of rims, immediately give my bike a much sportier/aggressive look. At first I was afraid to choose 50mm high rims, due to the influence of crosswinds during my rides, but after a few rides with moderate to strong winds I can say that this has no influence. I also like the fact that it has DT-Swiss 350 hubs, which are very maintenance-friendly. Without tools, you can remove your cassette from the rim and then do your thing. The only downside with these hubs is that it has an 18t ratchet in it which means the noise in freewheel is not as loud (personal opinion) as some other models, but this is very easy to replace yourself to a 24t, 36t or even a 54t ratchet.

Pros & Cons

Price
Sleek and clean
Stability
Noise in freewheel a little too quiet

The all-rounder in this price range, with only downside being its weight

- Jakob, 30 December, 2024

I am upgrading from my stock wheels to this all-round aero set. Apart from the expected visual boost, I was immediately surprised at how comfortable these wheels ride. With 28mm tyres on this set, I actually ride more comfortably than with 30mm on my old wheelset, I think because the internal width is so much wider and the tyres are also much wider now. Where the internal width brings comfort, the 31mm external width should also be completely in line with the aerodynamic trend towards wider wheels. The model is already some 3 years old though, and then you see that you can get significantly lighter wheel sets for the same price and depth these days. However, almost all alternatives had thinner internal and external widths, and in terms of maintenance, this Bontrager really seems to be a kilometre ahead. The DT Swiss 350 hubs, steel spokes, hooked rims, have been the standard for sooo long. And should things go wrong, you still have the 2-year replacement warranty through Trek!

Am very satisfied ! Nice for fast wheels.

- Kevin, 5 February, 2024

Wheels are stiff and roll smoothly. Really an upgrade for me should have done much earlier, due to the height though a bit sensitive to wind.

Pros & Cons

easy to make tubeless
Fits nicely with my TREK
Not too flashy due to black decals
Tubeless valve still tends to twist along.

Best upgrade for my bike

- Mats, 5 June, 2022

One of my better purchases for the bike, especially the increased comfort since the speed increased by 3-5 kmH was a fun side effect.

Pros & Cons

Adapted for wider tires
Withstands high weight

Wonderful set at a good price.

- Sander, 19 January, 2022

After a few rides really feel like you are faster. Combined with a good bike you cut through the wind. The wheels come up to speed well and then stay on pace well. You feel they keep moving you forward. They feel tight and fast. Make sure you have wide tires to stay comfortable as well. These are my first deep wheels, but those crosswinds have affected me very little so I can stay relaxed. In short. Very happy with them.

Pros & Cons

Carbon Care Program
Fast and stiff
Price / Quality
Stable even in crosswinds
Tight in bends
Stiff so also a bit harder. But that's carbon.
Very quiet. Some like a rattle.
