Pedals
Stiff construction for higher speeds!
The body of the 105 R7000 pedal is made of carbon composite. By using this material, Shimano has managed to raise the pedal's stiffness to a very high level. The pedal surface is extra large and ergonomically designed, improving pedalling efficiency and making you go faster while applying the same force. In addition, the enlarged pedal body reduces the risk of your feet getting sore on long bike rides. At the contact points where the cleat meets the pedal body, aluminium plates are fitted to prevent the cleat eating into the pedal body, so you can enjoy these beautiful pedals for longer.

Double bearings in the axle
In this 105 R7000 model, the pedal axle has been fitted with double bearings to make the pedal rotate super smoothly and to reduce energy loss while pedalling. The only downside to this construction is that these bearings are not sealed as extremely well as in the Ultegra R8000 pedal. If you ride a lot in dry weather, this won't matter, but if you ride in all sorts of weather and get wet every now and then, the Ultegra R8000 pedals might be a better choice for you because they include an extra seal for the bearings.
