The Shimano CL-MT001 cleat has been designed to make clipping in easier. This is ideal for beginners as well as for cyclists who often have to dismount due to technical obstacles. Getting (back) on your bike no longer requires thinking; you can clip in from multiple angles.
Entry options
This cleat offers three entry options, the first being the traditional way, where you first clip in the front, then press down on the rear. Secondly, simply "stomp" your foot down on the pedal and clip in. And thirdly, first clip in the rear of the cleat, then the front.
Application
Any rider who often has to clip out and back in can benefit from this cleat. This group includes XC riders who have to get off and back on their bikes due to obstacles or muddy sections, and mountain bikers who do the same on technical sections. Since the cleat also makes for better walking, it is very suitable for riders who walk occasionally.
