These Shimano XT Rapidfire plus shifters are XTR look a likes. They are developed to be combined with a Dyna-Sys 10 speed rear derailleur and 10 speed cassette. They are slimmer and lighter than previous XT-shifters.
XT Rapidfire Plus shifters have a Shimano 2-Way Release (push/pull option) for the small trigger. You can operate this with your index finger or thumb.
The mount can be adjusted to set it up in the best ergonomic position.
The Shimano SL-M780 XT Rapidfire Plus shifter work with a 'mode converter' and can be used for a double or a triple. These I-spec shifters can only be used with Shimano brakes. The B-type I-spec model is compatible with 2014+ B-type Shimano brakes and can be used with 2011+ I spec compatible brake levers from Shimano.
