Description

The Tacx Flux Smart T2900 is a compact and realistic interactive direct-drive trainer that gives you a realistic feel of cycling. The The Tacx Flux is the little brother of the Tacx Flux 2 Smart T2980. Thanks to the highly reactive Smart-electronics and the 7 kg flywheel, any fluctuations in resistance are instantly transferred to your legs. That way, every climb is imitated for a realistic climbing experience.

In order to reduce the noise, all parts of the Tacx Flux Smart have been selected as carefully as possible. This results in a very quiet turbo trainer. The Flux Smart uses ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart to communicate with other devices, making it compatible with smartphones, tablets, and (cycling)computers. The ANT+ FE-C protocol allows you to train with both the Tacx apps and those made by third parties such as Zwift and TrainerRoad. Indoor training should never have to be boring again. By using apps you can virtually cycle up the Alpe d'Huez, or sprint against cyclists on the other side of the world. The trainer can also be used as a stand-alone unit. If you don't pair the Tacx Flux turbo trainer, it will simulate a flat road.

With the Flux Smart T2900, Tacx has put a Direct Drive turbo trainer on the market with a very good price/quality ratio, and is ideal for cyclists and mountain bikers who are looking for an affordable turbo trainer to always be able to continue training indoors.

Easy setup and very quiet

Bought this to replace my old Tacx magnetic trainer as I wanted something “smart”. Having considered saving some money and getting another magnetic trainer (but this time a smart one) I’m pleased I paid a bit extra for this. Very quiet and far more like riding a real bike. Also no need to go changing tyres and the like. Has connected perfectly to Zwift, Tacx and Suferfest apps. Only thing I’m disappointed with is the 30 day trial of Tacx app which is a bit hopeless compared to the others out there. Great price from Mantel - miles cheaper than any UK price and I just need a replacement computer/kettle plug for it to work

Pros

  • Easy setup
  • Quiet

Cons

  • Poor Tacx app

Sehr guter Rollentrainer

Pros

  • Einfacher Aufbau
  • Leise
  • Genug Leistung der Bremse

Cons

  • Nicht zusammenklappbar

Detailed product description

• Shimano body: The Tacx Flux comes with an Shimano body which is suitable for almost any Shimano & SRAM cassette. If you have a SRAM XD or Campagnolo cassette, you can place an optionally available Tacx SRAM XD or Campagnolo body.

• Extremely quiet electromagnetic brake: The Tacx Flux Smart T2900 works with an electromagnetic brake. By placing magnets and electromagnets next to a rotating aluminium disc, the torque generates an alternate magnetic field. This way a contact free, maintenance free brake is realised that is also completely quiet. Thanks to this brake you can set up a resistance that you’d also see on the road or during a climb. The max. gradient of the Tacx Flux is 10% with a maximum power of 1500 watt.

• Plug & play: The Tacx Flux Smart is easy in use. Remove the wheel from your bike and place the chain on the cassette of your trainer. Now you can get on directly and start pedalling. The stable base of the trainer makes sure that you can stand on the pedals to get everything from the sprint. The LED lights on the Tacx Flux Smart indicate if the trainer is plugged into the socket and/or if it’s connected to a computer or phone via Bluetooth Smart or ANT+.

• Virtual speed: When cycling on a virtual platform or in a film it is possible you reach numbers outside the range of the brake. To allow riders with a motor brake to compete with riders with an electromagnetic brake via Multiplayer, Tacx designed the virtual speed. This measures the power output and translates it into speed, so a fair race is guaranteed. If this speed deviates from the speed of the rear wheel, the virtual speed is displayed in red on screen. Perfect for Zwift races or training rides on TrainerRoad or Kinomap.

• Suitable for thru-axle: Whether the Tacx Flux is suitable for your bike depends on the cassette. For an MTB with thru-axle you need an axle compatible with trainers, available for 135x10 and 142x12 mm. The latter is also available for road bikes with disc brakes.

• Connecting with Windows PC, Apple or Android: Do you have a Tacx Flux Smart and want to get more out of your exercise than is possible with Tacx apps? There’s a possibility to connect your trainer to the computer, smartphone or tablet. This way you can train with various apps such as Zwift, Trainerroad or The Sufferfest.

• Tacx Desktop App Premium Account: With Tacx Desktop App Premium you step into the world of virtual cycling environments. This makes indoor training more fun than ever before. You can cycle well-known cycling classics, climbs and other special routes all over the world. Compete against your friends or other participants for the podium positions, cycle the most beautiful routes and receive live data of your performance (cadence, speed and power). Indoor training with the Tacx Desktop App Premium is now more realistic than ever!
