The Tacx Bushido Smart trainer allows you to train in your own specific way. It's entirely up to you to choose what training level you wish to combine with which training options. The Bushido Smart comes without a head unit, as you can connect your own preferred device instead, for instantly by pairing your smartphone or tablet. New is the open ANT+ FE-C protocol, which allows third party software to control the trainer via ANT+. This allows you to train using software like ZWIFT, Kinomap, or VirtualTraining.

Wireless Smart Turbo Trainer

The Bushido Smart is fitted with a strong electric brake which can offer up to 1400 watts of resistance. This enables the trainer to simulate gradients of up to 15%. An electric brake is an advanced braking system controlled by software and capable of providing you with a realistic cycling feel. The new Bushido has an electronic flywheel over the old Bushido's physical one. This makes the trainer 2 kg lighter and provides you with an even more realistic cycling feel. The trainer uses both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart to communicate with external devices. The included Skyliner front wheel support raises your front wheel to the same level as the rear.

Good once you get going.

Took a while to set up. Signal kept failing on zwift. After a bit of trouble shooting and buying a usb cable extension to get the ant+ closer to the unit it's now working perfect. Really happy with the unit.

Great Turbo Trainer for those winter months

The Bushido arrived well packaged and with prompt delivery. It pretty much works straight out of the box, only having to swop out the axel. Once fitted though i found it extremely frustrating trying to get the wheel to be in the correct position on the runner. The instruction gave no advice on how to do it. It was either too far away or too close. I ended up looking on youtube at other manufacturers as to how to do it and eventually got it. Once up and running the connection was quick and easy and its great to be able to see the distance cycled whilst indoors. The auto resistance when following films is a great feature and really helps vary the workout. I'm currently going through the trial with Zwift which is great to be able to cycle round various locations and with other riders.

Detailed product description

Convenient Tacx Skyliner front wheel support

The Tacx Genius Smart T2080 is delivered with Tacx Skyliner front wheel support. Apart from a wheel support you can also stuck it in the trainer to bring it easily and conveniently and store it. You also use the front wheel support as a handle to pick up the trainer easily.

Easy in use

The Tacx Genius Smart has a robust frame and is incredibly stable, even during interim sprints. Apart from that it is easy to put up and the bike can be fixed in the trainer with two simple actions. The roll (on which the rear wheel rotates) is made of hardened steel with a soft core made of elastogel. The steel outside prevents wear of the roll, and the elastogel absorbs sound and vibrations.

Intensity & cadence indicator

The Genius Smart is provided with LED lights on the brake unit. These lights indicate the intensity of your training. Apart from that they also blink to the rhythm of your cadence.

3rd Party Apps (via ANT+)

The Tacx Smart trainers can be used with various software packages, such as ZWIFT, Bkool, TrainerRoad or Kinomap. The new open source ANT+ (FE-C) protocol lets the software operate the trainer. Depending on the selected software, you can base your training sessions on power or speed, go on video rides, or roam freely in a virtual world.

Tacx Cycling App (Via Bluetooth Smart and ANT+)

In order to optimise your training session, you can use the Tacx Cycling App. The app is simple and easy to use, and freely available from the App or Play store. The app allows you to relive videos of legendary climbs and stages. It also allows you to create your own training programmes using the Catalyst function, which can be based on heart rate, gradient, or power. The app also offers pre-installed conditional tests and training sessions. The training data is displayed during your training, and stored as well so you can review it afterwards (iPad only).

Tacx Upgrade Smart T2900

To connect the Tacx Flux Smart T2900 to your Windows PC you need the Upgrade Smart. This package includes the Tacx Trainer software 4, Advanced, a device for on your handlebars, and the ANT+ receiver with cord to place it as close as possible to the trainer.
