Make your mountain bike even better. The Sram X01 Eagle Upgrade Kit enables you to do just that, and choose your way of doing so. Fan of the gold, or more partial to black? And how do you want to operate the groupset: trigger or twister?
Taking things up a gear was taken very literally at Sram: the Sram XX1 Eagle was the first 1x12 groupset! The XX1 Eagle groupset is stronger, quieter, and more durable and accurate as well. The extra gear might cost you a few extra grams over the 11-speed groupset, but still stays well under the weight of a double groupset. The perfect choice then for cross country racers!
The Sram XX1 Eagle has been developed from the technology and construction methods used in the well-known XX1 and X01 groupsets, featuring items such as the X-Horizon rear derailleur, carbon cranks with Direct Mount rings, and cassettes made from a single piece. The Eagle cassette is identical to the 11-speed cassette but with the addition of a 50t cog. The cassette now offers the following cogs: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36, 42, and 50t. Only the largest sprocket has been made using aluminium, the rest has been machined and milled from a single piece of steel. The 12-speed cassette is compatible with the existing XD driver, meaning the distance between the cogs has been reduced, also making the chain narrower.
The X-Horizon rear derailleur design had to be adapted because of the larger cassette. The cage is slightly longer and the lower pulley now has 14 teeth instead of 12. The Roller Bearing Clutch has been further refined and offers more consistent power across the range of the cage.
