Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • With this upgrade kit you only need to replace the necessary parts!
  • The 12th gear, with 50t or 52t, offers you a lot more possibilities.
  • The clutch eliminates derailleur bounce - essential if you ride a 1x drivetrain!
  • The parts in this upgrade kit all have a really good price/quality ratio.
  • The cassette must be mounted on a SRAM XD body. For this you might have to change your wheel.

Description

Description

How do you want to control the 12 gears? There is a choice between a Trigger or a Gripshift. The advantage of the Trigger is that with the integrated MatchMaker X you can easily integrate your suspension lockout, shifters, etc to tidy up the cockpit. With the Gripshift, you can operate the GX Eagle rear derailleur easily and intuitively. This shifter offers a lot of grip and more accurate gear shifting. Both shifters feature X-Actuation™ technology. It ensures that switching remains sharp and consistent across the entire cassette of the gear ratio of 10 to 50/ 52 of the Eagle cassette.

Extra wide range, perfect for climbing mountains!
The Sram GX Eagle cassette has a range of 520%, or 500% (52t vs 50t). The XG-1275 cassette has gearing from 10t to 50t or 52t. The little 10t cog is great for getting up speed on the flats, and with the big 52t no climb will ever be too challenging. The 10/52 is ideal if you often ride very steep, technical climbs, but if you don't need such a light gear you can go for the 10/50 instead, which still has huge range.

Light and durable cassette
The cassette is held together with pins. This FULL PIN™ technology doesn't just make the cassette light but highly durable as well. The open X-DOME™ design allows mud and dirt to be quickly thrown clear. This improves both shift performance and durability. The 12-speed cassette fits the existing XD Driver.

Technically advanced rear derailleur
The Sram GX Eagle rear derailleur is fitted with all the great technology first seen with the XX1 Eagle rear derailleur- which is twice as expensive. The larger 12-speed cassette created a need for a slightly longer derailleur cage and increased the size of the lower pully from 12 to 14 T. The Roller Bearing Clutch has been further refined and supplies a more constant pull across the range of the derailleur cage. The only difference is the use of aluminium rather than carbon.

A strong chain that isn't expensive
The Sram GX Eagle chain has a solid pin construction, in contrast to the XX1 and X01 chains, making it less expensive but a little heavier. The Sram GX Eagle chain also features the Eagle™ PowerLock® connector link with Flow Link™ technology. This improves the way the chain runs and increases its lifespan.
