Detailed product description
The SW-M8050 Firebolt-shifters are designed for easy operation and precise shifting with single click action and effortless multi-shift possibilities. The shift button is adjustable and can be placed in the right position so it feels natural for every rider. It allows you to shift faster and anticipate to every situation which wouldn’t have been possible before. The Synchro Shift-technology in the shifters mean that riders can fully trust one shifter to shift in the frunt and rear. An adjustable division means that riders can program the exact gear ratio so the Di2 shifts automatically to the large sprocket or the the small sprocket. Whichever ratio you choose, Shimano’s Rhythm Step-philosophy ensures the steps are as small as possible which keeps the cadence and riding style smooth. No large shift steps, no strain on the muscles and joints, only effortless pedal strokes.
The FD-M8070 front derailleur and the RD-M8050 keep the shifting accurate and stable, developed for XTR Di2-components. A computer-controlled automatic trim functionality on the front derailleur makes the drive smooth. The rear derailleur shifts faultless, even under heavy stress on steep climbs or if the cassettes look more like piles of mud. The derailleur motors are twice as powerful as the Dura-Ace and the Ultegra Di2 to shift accurately in tough conditions.
The battery life is comparable to that of its brother, XTR Di2, with minimally a couple of hundred kilometers, even when you shift a lot over three sprockets plus extra gadgets. The visual LED-screen displays the battery, and shuts off automatically after a few seconds of inactivity to increase the battery life. If you notice the battery is running flat, charging takes about 90 minutes and the internal batteries have a simple plug & play operation so they can easily be replaced.
The pioneering technology of the DEORE XT Di2 M8050 is a new wireless Bluetooth connection to Shimano’s E-Tube program, a system that is used by Shimano to adjust and check the Di2 shifting. The Bluetooth technology allows the riders to communicate wirelessly with their computer, tablet, or smartphone via the SC-MT800 system information screen and a new battery. At the same time the system offers wireless adjustment options, with which riders can adjust their shifting preferences to the track with an app.
