Description

As strong and rigid as the R171 shoe, but even more adjustable! The Shimano RC7 road shoes feature the Boa IP1 retention system, a first in the Shimano shoe-range! The BOA system uses a dial, a stainless steel lace and flexible cable guides, which results in a consistent and even pressure when you close the shoe.

The RC7 shoes by Shimano have been designed for racers, but can naturally also be used by those who have a soft spot for top-end equipment or enthusiastic recreational riders. The RC7 road shoe combines three of the most important properties for true racing shoes (stability, rigidity, and low weight) with the custom feel and performance advantages of a perfect fit.

Extensive explanation size in cm
The size denoted in cm tells you how long the shoe is. This size was taken on the inside of the shoe measuring from the heel to the toes. In order to determine what size you’ll need, you can measure your own foot. Do this by placing a piece of paper on the floor tucked against the wall. Stand on the paper with your heel against the wall. Draw a line at your big toe. Measure the distance between that and the wall, and add approximately 5 mm. The number of centimeters is the size in centimeters found on our website. Which specific EU/UK size you need can differ between brands. This is because each brand uses their own boot tree, causing the shoe to be bigger or smaller than the size would suggest. This is why we’ve added the size in centimeters for all of our shoes. We’ve also categorised our shoes in three different groups: narrow, medium, and wide. In order to determine the width of your foot, you can use this table. Read all about it on our blog!

Great shoes at a great price

Having also had some Shomano R171 shoes that have been used to death, Shimano was top of my list for replacements. They haven’t disappointed, great power transfer and comfort, size 48 fits me great, the new Boa securing system is easy to use and very adjustable, as a friend of mine said Italian shoes are great to look at but Shimano are great to look at and also for comfort

Pros

  • Comfort
  • Adjustable
  • Securing system

Great shoe

Very good fit and a wide toe box, very stiff and light, you need to go 1 size up with them. i had s works before but they gave me numb feet, these are just as good, but a better fit and a lot less money. Pattern can rub off if the front of the shoe fits your front tyre.

  • Stiff
  • Wide
  • great fit

Cons

  • pattern on front and rub off.

Great shoe for racing

Great shoe was worried about it being too narrow as I have wide feet. Shoe fits with ease and is comfy even when putting down the power. Love the red colour of the shoes different from the normal. Boal dial system is a great addition and you can really feel the power transfer through the shoe.

Pros

  • Fit
  • Stiffness of sole
  • Colour

Cons

  • Need to be exact when fitting cleats.
