Description
Technology
Good workmanshipThis cassette has a slightly better finish to ensure smooth shifting and durability. With its light toothing, the HG-800 is the ideal cassette on longer climbs while you hardly lose anything on straights.
Cassette's width:
The 11/34 gear ratio cassette is the same width as a 10-speed mountain bike cassette. Because of the spider in umbrella shape, it also fits over a 10-speed mountain bike body.
• Number of individual components: 9
• Material: nickel-plated steel
• Spider: Aluminium
• Cogs on the cassette: 11-13-15-17-19-21-23-25-27-30-34t
• Weight according to Shimano: 335 gram
• For other gearing look at the Ultegra R8000 11 speed cassette.
Compatibility
This cassette is compatible with:- Ultegra R8000 long cage derailleur (RD-R8000 GS, RD-R8050 GS)
- 105 R7000 long cage derailleur (RD-R7000 GS)
Assembly
Special tools for mountingTo mount this cassette you need specific tools. These can be found here. For a more detailed explanation and instructions on how to use these tools please refer to our blog on replacing a cassette.
Don't forget the assembly grease!
The lockring of your cassette can be well tightened, in some cases up to 40 Nm. To make removing the lockring in the future easier, we recommend lubricating it with a bit of assembly grease. You can find our selection of assembly greases here.
User tips
How often should I wash my bike? Regular washing will keep your bike in good nick. It ensures that the parts on your bike last longer so that you can enjoy cycling happiness for longer. How often you should wash your bike is largely dependent on what sort of weather conditions you ride in. Are you always out there, come rain or shine? Or are you strictly a fair-weather cyclist? It all has an influence on the degree of wear on bike parts, and some of us have to wash our bikes more regularly than others. Refer to the plan below as a general guideline:October to March:
• Wash every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry and lube the chain after every ride
• Let the bike dry at room temperature
April to September:
• Wash every 300 km
• Rinse after a ride in the rain
• Dry and lube the chain after rinsing or washing
• Let the bike dry at room temperature

Super Kit
Purchased as a kit with Ultegra derailleur and chain. Don't forget to fit the spacer washer before fitting the first sprockets on the freewheel body.

Great product at great price
Perfect, hard to find on the net these sprocket boxes. Great price as well.

The ideal mountain cassette
Thanks to the 34x34, it's impossible to get stuck, and there's always a gear to turn your legs. The cassette has fewer holes at the top than the 11-32: 34-30-27-25-23 versus 32-28-25-22. You can keep the plate up to 27 with a good chain line for false flats. I keep the same chain length as with an 11-28 for racing, just adjust the derailleur tension screw. You just sacrifice the 12 and 14 teeth, which isn't a problem going downhill.

4 stars for soaring Shimano prices and lack of retail sprockets
bought to compose a cassette special mountain with a 11x 28 to make a 14 x 34 well staged associated with a GRX 46 x 30 I can now make all the climbs with the train without asking me questions. I am an amateur of 54 years 1,92 cm 82 kg. cassette super reactive and fluid. 2 cassettes to make one is very expensive! Mr Shimano retail sprockets please! PS: rear derailleur medium clevis mandatory Bonne route
