Pros & Cons
- With this upgrade kit your bike has a climbing resistance for the mountains!
- Both kits have an excellent price-quality ratio.
- With both kits you shift smoothly, even with a lot of pressure on the pedals.
- This kit is not suitable in combination with Shimano Tiagra 4700 shifters. So pay attention to that.

Description
Description
Difference between double and triple
The largest cassette sprocket you can place differs between a bike with a double crankset (2 chainrings at the front) and a bike with triple crankset (3 chainrings at the front). This has to do with the capacity that the rear derailleur needs to keep the chain at an optimal tension at all times. We therefore recommend not to deviate from this.
Derailleur Upgrade Kit with 11/32 cassette
The Derailleur Upgrade Kit with an 11/32 cassette consists of a Shimano 105 5700 rear derailleur, Shimano Ultegra 6600 chain and a Shimano HG500 10-Speed 11/32 cassette. This kit is suitable for bikes with a double, 2x10-speed crankset.
The HG500 10-speed 11/32 cassette has an excellent price-performance ratio, shifts smoothly and has good durability. The Shimano 105 5700 rear derailleur shifts smoothly and is not too heavy. The Shimano Ultegra 6600 chain completes it all and supports direct shifting.
Derailleur Upgrade Kit with 12/30 cassette
The Derailleur Upgrade Kit with 12/30 cassette consists of a Shimano 105 5700 rear derailleur, Shimano Ultegra 6600 chain and a Shimano Ultegra 6700 12/30 cassette. This kit is suitable for bikes with a double 2x10-speed crankset as well as bikes with a triple 3x10-speed crankset.
The Ultegra 6700 10-speed 12/30 cassette is light, shifts with extra smoothness and has an extra coating to increase durability. The Shimano 105 5700 rear derailleur makes shifting fast and smooth and is supported by the Shimano Ultegra 6600 chain.
Not suitable for Shimano Tiagra 4700 shifters
The Shimano 105 5700 10-Speed Climbing Derailleur Upgrade kit is not suitable for 10-speed Shimano Tiagra 4700 shifters. These are the Shimano Tiagra shifters in which all cables run under the handlebar tape.
This Shimano 105 5700 10-Speed Climbing Derailleur Upgrade kit is suitable in combination with all other 10-speed Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105 and Tiagra shifters.
Derailleur cable needed?
It is likely that you will also need to install another derailleur cable to get the derailleur working. You can find these cables here.Delivery includes

Magnificent
Modification of my 11-25 drivetrain to 11-32. The kit is adapted because I had to change my short-cage derailleur for this medium-cage kit. All the components are Shimano, so there's no compatibility problem.

Shifts are suddenly tremendously smooth
After years of riding with Shimano Tiagra, I have now switched to a 105 derailleur and ultegra cassette. Shifting is suddenly a whole step smoother though.

very satisfied with my order
buy to replace my short clevis derailleur with a long one so that I can fit an 11*32 tooth cassette instead of an 11/28.

Affordable way to get your bike ready for high mountains
On holiday to the Alps, a 28 rear seemed a bit too small, but bigger was out of the question with the small Ultegra derailleur I had. For 9 tens you'll be all set in no time.
