Description

The Schwalbe Durano Double Defence is fitted with a double protective layer. Besides the RaceGuard breaker layer, the SnakeSkin layer reinforces the sidewalls and shoulders of the Durano DD and ensures all-round protection with just a minor penalty to weight. The SnakeSkin fabric is new as well: it now uses a fabric fitted with mono-filaments which are more resistant to sharp cuts and offer more protection against snake bites.

Good winter tyre

Quite tricky to fit but solid choice for winter. Rubber compound seems very grippy compared to some winter tyres. Obviously the puncture resistance comes at the price of speed - they’re noticeably slower than summer tyres

Good looking tyre but puncture protection not great.

Unfortunately on my first second ride with these tyres I experienced a thorn right through the centre of the protective band so very disappointed with that. Would appear to have a very good grip as I found the journey was slower than normal. Also looks as if they are durable.
