Fine pedal but Shimano quality leaves much to be desired

Today, after 3 bike rides I had to open up the pedal, clean and re-lubricate it. The bearing just creaked and that is probably ex-factory because the last two weeks with only been dry outside.

Cheap entry-level model but after a few thousand miles creaking and squeaking. Not really durable, hence the price.
