Super nice bags where you can easily drop your shopping bag, they are waterproof and nice in colour, what I really miss is a pocket on the bag to put your phone for example! They were easy to order and delivered very quickly!

After 4 days on the GTJ trails, I can write a thoughtful review of these bike panniers. They are very easy to use and very practical, the storage volume is comfortable but as a result the panniers are bulky, I would have preferred them to be more elongated rather than thicker like this. The fabric was very hard-wearing and waterproof, even in the pouring rain, so there were no scratches despite the falls.

Perfect for touring by bike or simply for shopping! Mantel's ordering and delivery process is simple, reliable and fast.

Very happy with these bags 2 x 20 liter bags for weekend camping.

I just retired a pair of back roller classics after 12 years of very intensive use. These are a lot lighter, I hope they're just as sturdy!

Doubting for a long time between the Ortlieb Back Roller and the Ortlieb Velo City. Ordered both and kept both. Both panniers are great. The back roller sits nicely flat against the bike, has a solid back side (side against the rack) and the volume is variable. The Velo city, which was my favorite, has a sturdy back and bottom and the fact that it opens and closes easily with a strong magnetic clasp is just a little nicer than the rolling system of the back roller. The Velo is pre-shaped so it sticks out far from the bike and takes up more space. So both have advantages and disadvantages. In any case, both panniers are super handy for commuting and shopping because of the handy system and included handle.

As always, Ortlieb gets the job done. I like the Plus in fabric with the QL2 hooks. They're much stronger and more convenient than the QL1s and PVCs in the City range.

This variant of the Back Roller is a great revision of the same bag that I have been using for 20 years. Now that I want to take my kids on tour, I needed more bags. My choice fell on the Back Roller Plus because it brings new features in addition to the features I appreciate. Proven is: -the easy hooking and removal of the bags. -absolutely waterproof, robust and durable, wipeable -lots of storage space New is: -the possibility of adjusting the suspensions without tools. By the way, the bag also fits on very short, lower struts of racks with two suspension levels, because the hangers can be pushed far together. The rubber coating on the lower hanging rail protects the luggage carrier better against chafing. -The practical inner pocket for small items or documents. -The new material of the "Plus" variant is, in my experience, just as dirt-repellent as the other variants and more environmentally friendly. I have had an Office Bag in green made of this material for over five years and have not had any dirt-related discoloration. -new is a strap that tightens over the lid. I would not necessarily needed and means a handle more when closing, but you can also well secure other luggage or a "Rack Pack" (travel) bag from Ortlieb still strap on top. If you do not want to use the shoulder strap, you can also simply click the clips of the roll closure together at the top. Ready Conclusion: I have also seen current bag models of other manufacturers in use, but the "Back Roller (Plus)" remains the best bag on the market.

Since I have the bags only briefly in use, I can write little about long-term effect. Fast delivery unpacked, everything clean and super packed. Super color!! The conversion for the lower bracket worked perfectly. Bags sit absolutely tight on the bike. Waterproof? We will see. The volume of 2 x 20 liters are sufficient for day trips.

Super easy handling very much storage space. Well finished and you get from the manufacturer at any time spare parts if something breaks. For me, simply a super companion for work or leisure for longer tours. You can always choose whether you want to go with one or two bags. Had now just made a generous purchase and it fit amazingly much purely and even the high weight makes the bags nothing out sit very stable.

Took me a while to test these out. Use these on my speedbike they are secure and you can quickly take them off to take with me. Perfect panniers would recommend them to anyone looking for large solid panniers.

Truly top of the line bags. Been hesitating which one to take. No regrets for a second. Made a 400 km trip and everything stayed dry. Also the bags stayed on the bike and no problems with cycling. Rolling in was very easy and therefore you have more flexibility with your stuff.

The simple mechanism when attaching and removing the bags, the robust and visually pleasing material and the durability of the bags let me always reach for the products of Ortlieb. In my opinion, the higher price is fully worth it - I have the bags but for many years and often in Gebrach.

The bag looks good, the waterproof fabric is very valuable and can be easily rolled to close the bag. The reflective stripes provide additional safety. The assembly is easy to do through the quick-release fasteners without tools. The pockets are very spacious, for small stuff there is a subdivision with an open and a zippered inner pocket. With a lot of weight I feel the shoulder bag a little uncomfortable, because the shoulder strap hangs on the coiled pocket closure. For small stopovers but quite sufficient.

I used to take the car when I needed to carry a lot of stuff but thanks to these bags that's a thing of the past! I am pleasantly surprised how much you can fit in these bags! And it's so much more relaxing cycling knowing your bag will never fall off the rack or get wet. It's really super comfortable.

Nice stuff, we are happy with it. The latest Gazelle Grenoble e-bikes (which we have) have a rack with rectangular aluminum profile. The round 'cups' of the panniers do not fit on that. Also the Ortlieb bags without cups are round preformed and not rectangular ... Does ortlieb also have clamps, carriers that are preformed rectangular?

These panniers are as well made as all other Ortlieb products but they are much lighter than some of the more traditional panniers. Despite that, they’ve already survived some downpours and everything inside has remained dry. The internal zipped pocket and sleeve pocket are a welcome addition to stop smaller items getting “lost” inside the main body of the pannier. Once adjusted, they fit really well to the pannier rack and are extremely easy to attach and remove, while remaining secure once they are in place.

The pannier mount on my bike is quite thick in diameter. Though I followed all of the correct mounting instructions and the bags seemed quite secure, the lower mount came undone during my first commute to work and the back corner of the bag got caught in my spokes, breaking the plastic protection system on the bottom of the bags. Needless to say, spending more on expensive bags (which are supposed to be the best) to get them fixed after one ride makes me skeptical about my purchase.

This is my 4th pair, they are solid and beautiful. With frequent use in cold weather, the closures can break, but you have a 5 year warranty and after that you can always order them separately.

So far, so good, I'm happy with my panniers (Loire by bike, no worries). But to be confirmed in September with a more thorough test in the Dolomites :)

Practical bags, easy and sturdy to attach. Fits a lot and they are beautiful. We have the experience that Ortlieb bags last a very long time, hopefully these will too!

Super bags! Sturdy with very simple (but not very secure) hooks. Beautiful material and top quality. Strap system needs to be reviewed, as it's not very comfortable to wear. Ditto handles + small "quick access" pocket missing on front or side.

It seems like a contradiction in terms but these panniers are truly gems for any bike!!!

I've just started commuting and these have proved invaluable. They hold loads and are so easy to get on and off the bike. I haven't tested how waterproof they are yet. The carry strap is really great too. I know they are pricey but they are so worth it.

My first Ortlieb purchase and probably not my last: the finish inside (small pockets and seams) is perfect, the material is solid, strong (6 liters + extras in 1 bag was no problem), easy to keep clean and indeed waterproof, the suspension system is ingenious. Only downside: carrying the bags or lifting them off the bike when they are packed; a second handle along the other side would help.

I am very happy with these bags. They are nicely finished and solid. I am sure they will last a very long time. The pockets are very spacious. Is really enough to carry your laptop, lunch and rainwear. The system is easy to adjust if you use different bikes. Only downside is that you don't have a separate front or side pocket to put away your keys and cell phone.

It is a fine but expensive set of bags. Quickly carrying a bag goes well, while hanging it just takes some dexterity. Ideally, I would also have preferred a separate hood instead of simply rolling up the top for closure. It provides a little more space, but works a little more awkwardly. All in all, I am very pleased with my not-perfect purchase.

Very handy bike bags. I would like to add 2 more things. An extra pocket on the outside where you can put a small thing that is allowed to get wet. A ring where you can put a lock through so you can lock the bags to your bike.
