I ordered the rims because I already know them and have driven. They came as described in the store well packaged and complete with everything that goes with it! (E.g. also the extra washers for the cassette on the freewheel). Stocked and was also really called stocked and I received the goods after two or three days (I have also experienced differently).

After my old wheel broke down, got this set. Simple basic no-nonsense wheels, run light/smooth. Spacer (for a 10 speed) is included. Packaged solidly, and shipped quickly by mantle. Pleasantly priced

Already had the same wheels always satisfied well. But after years of enjoying them through a few very wet trips and about think it's about 10 years now the rear wheel braked through but still run smoothly anyway but bought the same ones again

It now covers 670 km and is excellent, no need to buy an expensive wheel.

When buying the wheels, I was curious about the quality as there are many positive stories about them. However, I am very dissatisfied: after 1000km, the front wheel has backlash, after 2000km, the rear wheel has backlash and after 3500km, the rear wheel does not run straight. I have had wheels from different brands over the years, all around this price range. No set has performed as poorly as this one.

I was looking for modern wheels to replace my mavic cxp wheels and the Aksium has the same allowable rider weight. When the spoke tension decreases, the wheels automatically warn by "rattling":-). Solved after re-tightening. Ivm flat spokes do require special tools.

After testing the wheels, I can say with a clear conscience that it has felt everything it should. Roundness and symmetry are very good. The tension of the rims is in the middle range and everything is even. I can recommend it and hope that the other products will run just as well and that Mantel will maintain its service.

My Krysiums finally became unrepairable (hubs shot, rims thinned out) after 14 years of great service, and I just couldn't justify another pair on my winter/training bike. I went for the Aksiums for their reliability and reputation for ease of service. 3 long rides in on some pretty poorly surfaced, wet and muddy west country roads and they're holding up well. No flex on steep climbs and running true. So far, no complaints.

Second set of Aksium wheels I have bought. They deal very well with the roads in Norfolk. I am happy with my purchase.

I had the exact same wheels before this purchase. The reason I took new wheels was because the brake rim was getting worn in (after about 12,500 km and I weigh about 73 kg). I have 28 mm tyres on these wheels and they work fine. I do everything with these wheels, (hard) downhill, cross country, gravel, sand, alley cat everything, and they don't let me down. So this was the reason for getting these wheels again, I trust them.

I bought these mavic aksiums as they reminded me of the old days when I was into cycling, always have mavic rims, 30 yrs later I'm still using mavic. These are fantastic quality and a great price,they look amazing on any road bike be it a budget build all the way up to a high end road bike. I will always buy mavic.

Fast rolling lightweight wheels. This set doesn’t have the flat spokes. No tyres included but that suited me in this case.

Had not used Mantel before and was questioning buying from Mantel over Wiggle.....but the extra £30 saving was worth the risk, especially with the purchase covered by PayPal. However I was pleasantly surprised when the service arrived on time and the quality was great.

The are nice steady and sleek in the same time

This is my second set of Mavic Aksium wheels. The first set stood up to a lot of abuse with nil maintenance. They are a Huge improvement over many standard wheels fitted to even quite expensive road bikes. They add noticeable stiffness but are also light weight. On top of this the low spoke count and aeroblade shape looks pretty cool.

I bought these as a replacement for the OEM Fulcrum Wheels fitted to my Cube. They look good and they do roll better, But then I knew it was a safe bet purchase as I bought a pair of Mavic Aksiums for my other bike 6 years ago and they are still going strong. Not sure why Mavic decided to add bladed spokes to the rear drive side only whereas the rear non drive and the front wheel are round spokes, but who cares, not me. A quality upgrade for a cheap price, cheers Mantel
