Very comfortable helmet, is slightly heavier due to the MIPS but due to a good fit (is personal, of course) this does not bother me at all. During riding, the helmet ventilates well, with the cold days even too well, for hot days where there is a lot of climbing, I would personally choose a more open helmet because the helmet ventilates less well, until you make enough speed in the descent. Also put the helmet to the test during a crash test (at 40KMh). I ordered the Giro again after this accident.

I chose this helmet because, as a spectacle wearer, it still gives me a sunshade and allows me to see everything. I rode several hundred kilometres with it to my complete satisfaction. But after a few months I was in Luxembourg and during a descent at about 60-70 km/h I had to look back for traffic. In the process, the visor let go and it flapped up into the bushes on the opposite side of the road. Searched but untraceable. Giro says it's not due to the helmet. Yet I now read from others that the visor has come off. Still a shame because the visor is no longer available separately (sold out, which makes you think). All in all, an unsatisfactory result for this not cheap helmet.

Fine helmet in terms of fit. I use the helmet for triathlon races, among other things. A pity, though, that the competition stickers damage the matt layer on the helmet. Also, I already have a tear in the middle of the visor.

This is a good helmet. Comfortable, reasonably light and decent ventilation. Visor is an added value, especially if you wear prescription glasses. The magnetic visor function works well when on but not so good upside down. My visor has cracked for no apparent reason on the nose piece. Could do with a magnetic strap fastener.

Fits good, good looking but rather heavy. Felt a little pain in my neck during my first ride and weighted the helmet when arrived home. Compared to my POC Ventral air helmet it was 115g heavier. But you gets used to the weight.

I have done a number of rides and have found the helmet to be pretty good. Over longer rides 4h+ it get's a bit uncomfortable

Very nice helmet this fits well and has a visor that is easy to loosen and fasten. The visor is quite far away from your face and the biggest drawback and reason for me to return it is that there is quite a lot of wind coming through the top past the visor which makes my eyes rather watery. One advantage it also has due to the distance the visor will not fog up.

Could be, with a few improvements. Chin catch is too fiddly, would be much better if magnetic like the best climbing helmets catering for cold or wet hands. Ratchet is very small and the sizing isn’t correct, my head measurement was in the middle of the range for medium fit but actually it’s right on the lower limit and could do with being a bit tighter. On the plus side it’s liberating not to have to wear glasses.

I wanted to love this helmet. It looks great, and appears to have a practical design concept that allows you to take off the visor from it's magnetic fixings, and affix it upside down to the top of the helmet to ride without the visor covering your eyes. On delivery of the helmet I was really impressed, the design is slick, and the helmet fitted great (I've a 62.5cm head, so just fitted the Large). I was excited to try it out. On my first ride with the helmet it was an exceptionally hot day in the UK, being 30 degrees. Of course being an aero helmet I was expecting it to not have the best ventilation. Cycling along at speed, it is fine. But when you are going uphill, or stuck in traffic you heat up very quickly. Beads of sweat were starting to run down my face, and I was taking off the visor from it's magnetic fixings to wipe my face and reattaching it in place. I got on with the ride, and thought 1) most days aren't this hot here, and 2) if I'm using this in an event like a 70.3 or 140.6 I'll be well ventilated at pace. So was happy enough. However the next ride I tested the helmet was on another hot day. Midway through the ride I got tired of taking off the visor to cool down, so I stopped at the roadside, took off the visor and attached it upside down to the helmet on it's inbuilt magnetic fixings, as the helmet and visor is designed to do... I set off cycling down the road, and was at some pace, when I had to look over my shoulder to check for rear approaching vehicles when I saw a pot hole approaching. At this point the draft wind caught the visor, pulling it off it's fixings, and visor then fell to the tarmac and skidded down the road. The visor was scratched right across the line of sight, and frustratingly unusable. It could well have been run over by a car, or even caused an accident if I was riding in a group. At this point, after the failure of the product, I lost faith in it. The magnetic fixings on the top of the helmet are not sufficient to hold the visor in place when it's flipped and fixed on top, as it's designed to do. It will not hold the visor in place, and you risk loosing it, as i did, and it getting damaged. The magnets do not align and secure the visor effectively when the visor is flipped upside down. I have returned the helmet and received a refund.

Brilliant piece of equipment. Great in the rain. Much better than I thought it would be. Visor holds firm on windy rides and is good in wet conditions. Quick delivery and great services from Mantel. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this piece of equipment.

I had the Giro Air Attack before this & the Vanquish is noticeably quieter, particularly when you go faster. It fits well & looks good. The only foreseeable problem is when the visor is turned upside down on the helmet, it doesn’t secure as well as in the normal position, although it hasn’t fallen off yet.

Really impressed with this helmet the visor is clear and comfortable and attaches well via the magnets, for an areo design the ventilation is very good, only gets hot when going slow uphill on a very hot day so can't complain. I certainly feel faster when wearing it, it also looks cool. The only thing that out shone the actual product was the service, arrived well be before expected even during lockdown(covid-19) and don't get me started on the packaging I will definitely buy again for the packaging, do yourself a favour and order from here you won't be disappointed, some of the best prices to go along aswell.

I swear my segment times have improved, has to be the helmet, surely ;-) Having glasses makes this helmet a dream, very comfortable and the visor being wrapped, stops the sun glare. When turning the visor upside down when not wearing can be fiddly but all in all a great helmet.

This helmet saved me from serious head trauma. I have only had this helmet a few weeks and was involved in an accident over the weekend where I was wiped out by a deer. I flipped over my handlebars and the helmet took the brunt of the impact. I walked away with no head injuries or concussion and only a fractured collar bone, twisted ankle and plenty of cuts, scrapes and bruises. Parts of the visor shattered on impact but protected my eyes as i scrapped the concrete. Once I heal up I will be replacing my damaged helmet with another Giro Vanquish MIPS. If you are thinking of buying this helmet just do it. You can not put a price on head safety!

The helmet is consistently highly rated on other sites and by magazines. It reportedly has good aero credentials and adding a visor would presumably have added benefit in that department. The helmet feels solid throughout and the adjustment wheel at the back never feels like it would slip which I have noticed on previous helmets. Unfortunately for myself none of my multiple pairs of glasses fit well under the visor, where they do just about fit any pothole in the road can knock the frame into the visor and dislodge it from the magnets (which given the potential cost of a visor spilling off onto the tarmac form actually feel *that* strong). Additionally I have noticed a sore spot directly on top of my head on longer rides, regardless of re-adjusting several times. I was on the cusp of M/L (with head circumference 59cm) and opted for medium; perhaps larger would have been more comfortable. I'm hoping that getting some more contact lenses and substituting padding into the roof of the helmet from my old lid will solve these issues.

First aero helmet for TT Bike, massive improvement with viability in the bike. I feel faster so that will do Used for Weymouth 70.3 2019 in heavy rain an visibility even then was really impressive

bought for my upcoming Ironman event, its heavier than my road helmet, but the ventilation is better than expected, Mips built in and the real reason for buying it... that visor! love it, i have rather a large nose and this fits perfectly without rubbing, but still close enough i don't get blinded by reflections off the road. Could do with a softer strap maybe.

The optics are fantastic and although the visor is easy to put o and remove, it takes some getting used to while still on the bike!

The fit around the head is excellent and it feels really comfortable in use. There is a tiny gap between the helmet and the top of the visor but it's hardly significant. An alternative, clear, visor would have been nice.

I was a bit concerned on the styling and the "integrated" visor but as soon I as I put it on I realised much more comfortable and better fitting than my other helmets. The visor which is magnetically fixed to the helmet works really well as it doesn't steam up like the glasses I usually wear. If you don't like the visor taken it offer is very easy as there are no clips . Very impressed and really glad I bought it
