Great practical pannier to have for City life

- Chris, 10 November, 2020

Great practical pannier to have for City life. I chose this bag because of its dual usage. I can use it as a normal pannier attached to my bike, and when I’m in the city, I can park my bike, and use the pannier like a normal backpack! Which is nice and light to carry, unlike other styles of panniers, which can be heavy and bulky. I love Basil bags, and this one is nice and stylish too. It’s a good size, so you can fit quite a few things in it. It’s even wide enough for a helmet. I like how there is a sternum strap, which prevents it from falling down my shoulders. And there’s some padding in the back too. The only things that let the bag down are that the available compartments are basic. There’s one deep compartment at the front of the bag, and one half deep inside of the back. I wish there was a smaller compartment or pocket so that you could easily store things like a mobile phone or wallet, so that you don’t have to reach right down in the compartment (gravity forces things to the bottom). And I wish there was a padded laptop compartment too. I also wish there were more reflective parts on the bag for cycling in the dark, and a waterproof layer to put over it - which do come included with some other Basil bags. However these are only little gripes, and overall I’m very satisfied with this bag. It is hard to find a pannier/ backpack on the market like this, especially at a good price like this (even harder to find in the UK). Would recommend. Also the delivery of this bag was really quick! Thank you!

Pros & Cons

Backpack / Pannier
Good deep size
Light weight
Practical & comes with sternum strap
Sleek design
Does not include waterproof cover
No dedicated laptop compartment
Not enough compartments
Not many reflective features
Wish would be available in more feminine colours
