The origins of the Oakley Jawbreaker are more or less coincidental: during a casual dinner between Mark Cavendish and the Oakley design team Cav brought up that wanted new glasses. Protection and fit of an Racing Jacket in combination with the lens type and qualities of a Radarlock. Oakley started working on this and designed the Jawbreaker! If you don’t want to choose between the Racing Jacket or Radarlock, but be the first to reach the finish, the Jawbreaker with Prizm lens is for you.

Clear vision and good protection

in the past I tried to buy glasses which would cover both Mountain Biking and casual wear, but they always seemed to be a compromise. This time I went for the Jawbreaker with the Trail Prizm lens. which I consider to be a cycling specific pair of glasses. I wanted a full coverage lens as I suffer from hayfever and I also get very watery eyes when descending at speed, and smaller size glasses seem to form eddies behind the glasses which are almost worse than no glasses at all. I am pleased to say I have had no issue with these glasses, and the Prizm lens makes everything very clear. A great price and very quick delivery from Mantel.

Pros
  • Great coverage vor view and protection.
  • Prizm lenses
Cons
  • Slightly dark for evening riding.

Fantastic cycling glasses

These glasses were a replacement for my old Oakley fast jacket so was doing a bit of research as I wanted to get it right. I am a big Team Sky fan and noticed these Jawbreaker glasses and noticed that the team and most of the peloton wear them and also Mark Cavendish had a big input into the design of them too. So shopped around and found Mantel were the best price by far and ordered them they arrived in 3 days (UK) and with my first ride with them I found them comfortable and not slipping down my nose and the lens clarity is superb with the prizm visor I also found that they didn’t mist up as the they had good venting. All in all a fantastic pair of cycling glasses. I say cycling glasses because they look a bit odd for just walking around the shops in but with full cycling attire they look the biz!!!

Pros
  • Great Fit
  • Doesn’t Mist
  • Great Lens
  • Looks awesome
  • Doesn’t slip off your face
Cons
  • None

Detailed product description

Switchlock: makes it much easier to swap lenses.

Field of view:
Special lens for cycling. The biggest challenge was creating a lens that has a certain shape so you don’t look at the frame. This seemed difficult because during cycling people keep there head and back down but the eyes to the front. Oakley guarantees that with this lens you have a large field of view without obstructions or blind spots

Fit & Protection
A good fit means better results and protection. The combination of the flexible and durable O-matter material with Plutnotie lenses guarantee a maximum protection in all conditions.

Ventilation:
Thanks to the special “surge” vents air is led around the lenses to prevent the glasses from fogging.

Adjustable stems:
Thanks to adjustable stems there are three options to wear them, so you can choose the best fit for you.

Prizm Lens:
The special Prizm lens has incredibile regulated light transmission which results in an improved contrast between colours and visibility of objects important for performance.

HDO:
Means High Definition Optics, or the bend in the lens. The bend is with this technology in accordance with that of the eyes. This way the vision is always sharp and never distorted.
