The Hammerhead Karoo 2 is an innovative cycle computer from the young brand Hammerhead. A cycle computer made by cyclists for cyclists. Especially the platform on which the Hammerhead runs is special. This is the Android operating system, that almost everyone knows from their mobile phones. The Karoo 2 features a large colour screen, a powerful processor and is ready for any adventure!

Extra large and sharp display
The Hammerhead Karoo 2 has a 3.2" matt screen, which is made from super tough and clear Gorilla glass. The matte finish ensures there's no screen shadow and sharp readability at all times. The Karoo 2 is equipped with an HD screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and touchscreen functionality. It is possible, however, to lock the screen and control the Hammerhead 2 with buttons only, allowing for easy menu navigation. Despite the large screen, the device is still lightweight.

Precise navigation and routing functions
The Karoo 2 features accurate navigation and display of street names, points of interest, route information and more. The software used is OpenStreetMaps. You can download each county's or area's map separately, so you'll always have the right map. Did you make a wrong turn? Then the Karoo 2 will bring you back on track by recalculating the route. Karoo 2 features turn-by-turn navigation for every route, with audio prompts and visual indicators to ensure you never miss a turn. The Hammerhead easily syncs routes from places like Strava, Komoot, Ride With GPS and MTB Project.

Climbing challenges
Climbs during your ride are automatically detected, so you get specific information for each climb on your screen. Climb detection can be done while riding without a route and on regular routes, routes to POIs and detours. You can choose whether you want to see it everywhere or only on big climbs.

Connection Karoo 2
Hammerhead Karoo 2 has its own connection. You don't need to pair it with your smartphone, as Wahoo and Garmin do. The Karoo 2 can upload your data directly to your favourite platforms via WiFi. It is also possible to put a SIM card in the Karoo, so the system gets its own internet connection. This way, you can easily pass on your location to family and friends via your live tracking link, even without a smartphone. When you have finished your workout, Karoo sends it straight to Hammerhead Dashboard or Strava, for example - so you don't need a mobile phone for that either. Of course the SIM card is only an option: you can also connect the Karoo to the internet via your phone's hotspot.

Waterproof
The Karoo 2 has an IP67 rating, which means it is protected against the worst weather conditions. The Karoo 2 keeps water out when submerged up to 1 metre deep for 30 minutes. So it's no problem if you drop it in a puddle of water.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hammerhead Karoo 2 Shimano Di2 compatible?
No, it used to have this feature. However, since Hammerhead were taken over by SRAM, Shimano have been a little petty. Hammerhead was forced to remove the feature. After a software update on June 2, 2022, it will no longer be possible to view Di2 functions such as battery life on Hammerhead.
