The Giro Synthe Mips is the pinnacle of Giro's helmet design. This modern helmet offers impressive cooling performance, minimal weight, a perfect fit, and sleek aerodynamic efficiency. The difference really showed during Giro's extensive wind tunnel testing. In fact, the Giro Synthe proved to be as aerodynamic as numerous time trial-specific helmets! The best properties of the Synthe: comfort and cooling. At the heart of the helmet is the RocLoc Air Firt system. This system raises the helmet fractionally above your head, creating enough space for air to flow through. This system also allows you to adjust the tension on the head band as well as the forward/aft tilt. No longer be faced with a choice between aerodynamics and cooling: the Giro Synthe can do both!

Safety first

Love this helmet as it's really light and comfortable. This is my second Giro Synthe MIPS helmet, i bought my first one last year and it has been the best helmet i've purchased, the only reason i've bought another one so soon is because i had a bad accident in my bike 5 weeks ago. I landed on my head and shoulder, and i believe if it wasn't for the MIPS i would have came a lot worse off (maybe wouldn't be here now) Just a pity i can't say the same for my shoulder though.

Pros
  • Ligjt
  • Comfortable
  • Mips (extra safety)
Cons
  • Price

Good high performance helmet.

Light weight. Good adjustability. Comfortable but a bit warmer than the my old helmet. Difficult to judge the aero claims. The MIPS internals appear to add adjustability.

Pros
  • Good adjustability.
  • Light weight.
  • Comfortable fit.
  • MIPS
Cons
  • Warmer than some.
  • End of straps flap about.
  • List price too expensive.

Good helmet, comes up small

Good helmet, comfortable to wear and looks great! Just need to watch sizing as I think the medium I bought came up slightly smaller than other Giro mediums I own, still fits OK though.

Pros
  • Looks good
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • watch the sizing

Nice looking helmet, light and comfortable love the dedicated glasses slots.

Wanted to replace my old Giro helmet as it was getting tired was pleased with the first so decided to stick with the same make my head side is 55cm right on the change from small to medium decided to go with the medium same as my first Giro this allows space for head gear in the colder times. The Synthe feels light, fits me very nice even with the lack of padding it still quite comfortable would recommend but not cheap shopped around Mantel was buy far the cheapest fast delivery

Pros
  • Place to fit your Sunglasses
  • Light
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Would like padding
  • Not the cheapest

Detailed product description

Technologies:
Roc Loc Air Fit system:
The Giro Roc Loc Air system is specially developed for the Giro Airo helmets. This new system ensures the helmet floats a little bit above your head. As a result there is a good airflow over the top of your head what ensures a good ventilation. Just like the Roc Loc®5 system the helmet can be easily fine-tuned. The tension around the head and the vertical position can be adjusted with one hand. With this Giro sets the new standards for ventilation and comfort.

MIPS System:
The MIPS System exists out of a low friction interlayer between the EPS lining and padding with an elastic fixation. This allows the helmet to move (slide or rotate) during a crash. It will move around your head to catch the side and rotational forces that could occur during a crash. This in contrast to a helmet without MIPS, whereby the impact is only collected by compressing the EPS lining.

Wind Tunnel Ventilation:
Giro helmets are developed using its Giro Wind Tunnel ventilation system. This system combines the active vents with the internal ventilation outlets. This combination ensures a cool, fresh air flow over and around the riders head, while forcing the heat and stale out. The renewing of these ''air channels'' turns out to be a huge success. The riders were real enthusiastic, they noticed the new ''air flow'' around their head, resulting in a better cooling!!

In-Mold Construction:
The In-Mold Construction combines a strong polycarbonate outer shell with
shock absorbing helmet padding. Thanks to its fusion process it is possible to sculpt a better ventilation system, so the In-Mold helmets are lighter and cooler than most traditional helmets.

X-static Padding:
Besides the fact they are comfortable The X-static pads ensure anti-microbial properties to keep your helmet longer clean . The pads are machine washable.
