Detailed product description
The MIPS system consists of a low friction interlayer between the EPS lining and the padding that is provided with elastic attachments. This way the helmet can slightly rotate and shift in case of a crash, so the lateral forces and rotational forces are cushioned. This in contrast to a helmet without MIPS where the crash is only dampened with the EPS liner that is pressed in.
The In-Mold Construction combines a strong polycarbonate outer shell with a shock absorbing foam lining. Thanks to the fusing process it is possible to create a good ventilationsystem, so the In-Mold helmets are lighter, and cooler than traditional helmets.
A good helmet is comfortable, which you can feel the moment you put it on your head. Thanks to the super fit system it is comfortable, it's like you don't even feel it. The Giro three-size super fit system is based on over 20 years experience, and also the average human head size. They have experience with producing helmets for the best cyclists in the world. The result is pure "Skull Hugging Luxery". The design made sure it fits 98% of the world's population, and it feels and looks like it was custom made for you!
Wind Tunnel Ventilation:
Giro helmets are designed with the Giro Wind Tunnel ventilation system. This system combines active ventilation holes with internal channels. This combination makes sure cool and freash are flows around and over the head of the cyclist, while warm air is pushed out. This improvement turned out to be a success! The riders who tested it loved it, they said they felt a new "air flow" around the head.
Roc Loc 5:
After more than 2 years Giro introduced the Roc Loc 5. This groundbreaking fit system offers a completely unique user experience and saves weight. With Roc Loc 5 you can change the fit and vertical position with one hand. Simply turn the dial to loosen or tighten the helmet whenever you wish. Even with these qualities the Roc Loc 5 is still almost 40% lighter than its predecessor, the Roc Loc 4.
