Description

The Giro Chronicle MIPS protects you during everything from technical descents to extremely long climbs. Compared to other MTB helmets, this helmet has a low back. This way the back of your head is better protected during crashes. It has many of the qualities the more expensive Montaro also had, except the price. The P.O.V. Plus™ visor, the Roc Loc ® 5 adjustment system and the Extra plush Coolmax padding are a nice example. It is also provided with the safe MIPS system.

The Giro Chronicle has the MIPS system so the helmet can slightly move (shift and rotate) relative to the head, so the lateral and rotational forces are cushioned. The Roc Loc 5 system allows you to change the fit with one hand. Just turn the dial to loosen or tighten it whenever you wish.

Detailed product description

POV Plus visor:
Point of View visors are attached by a patented and internal mechanism. It can be adjusted manually without tools, both horizontally and vertically. The visor is designed in such a way that it stays in place and doesn't move when riding on rough terrains. There are 3 different settings during riding. One is extra high so you can hide your goggles*.

MIPS system
The MIPS system consists of a low friction interlayer between the EPS lining and the padding that is provided with elastic attachments. This way the helmet can slightly rotate and shift in case of a crash, so the lateral forces and rotational forces are cushioned. This in contrast to a helmet without MIPS where the crash is only dampened with the EPS liner that is pressed in.

Roc Loc 5:
After more than 2 years Giro introduced the Roc Loc 5. This groundbreaking fit system offers a completely unique user experience and saves weight. With Roc Loc 5 you can change the fit and vertical position with one hand. Simply turn the dial to loosen or tighten the helmet whenever you wish. Even with these qualities the Roc Loc 5 is still almost 40% lighter than its predecessor, the Roc Loc 4.
