The Fizik Antares R1 saddle is part of the further developed Spine Concept. Before, this just looked at the flexibility of your spine, but now it takes the way you ride into consideration as well. The rotation of your pelvis is essential to determine whether a saddle suits your needs or not. There's now both a Regular (140 mm) and Large (152 mm) version available of the Fizik Antares R1. The faster you ride, the lower the pressure gets on the saddle, requiring less surface area for support.
The Fizik Antares R1 has been designed with the so-called Chameleons in mind. According to Fizik, the Chameleon is a rider with a fairly flexible spine. The Antares saddle is a mix of the Arione and Aliante when it comes to the shape. The saddle offers great support in every possible position. The Chameleon bars have the same shallow drops as the Bull version, but the reach of the Snake bars. The Fizik Antares R1 is one of the lightest and most rigid saddles in the Antares range. This is because of the carbon shell, Wing Flex technology, and Carbon Braided rails.
This saddle has a semi-round rear part which makes it perfect for those who move around a little with their hips while riding. A semi-round saddle provides ample support while also offering enough freedom to move around, and more so than a flat saddle.
This is a semi-round saddle, which means it's flat at the front and raised slightly in the rear. The shape makes it suitable for people with a fairly flexible spine. This has to do with the rotation of your pelvis. For instance, when you're upright you might need a little extra support, but when rotating forward to ride on the drops you're fine.
