The Etixx Isotonic Energy Gel contains the 'triple action effect' sugar combination, and added with a citrate mix. This unique sugar mixture consists
out of the ideal combination of monosaccharides, disaccharides and higher (poly) saccharides. Because these chains differ in length, they are gradually being absorbed by the body. You will notice its effect straight away, but the extra energy is also longer available. Citrates are a kind of salt. These ensure your fluid balance stays optimal during exercise when combined with sufficient water. The gel is isotonic when dissolved in 350 ml of water.

The Etixx Isotonic Energy Gel is ideal for long and strenuous efforts in hot weather and for athletes who sweat a lot. This Etixx Energy Gel contains electrolytes and citrates. Electrolytes (sodium and potassium) compensate for the minerals lost through sweating. Sodium also ensures that moisture is better retained in the body and stimulates the feeling of thirst. This stimulates you to take in enough fluids during exercise.

This gel is isotonic (6,9 % carbohydrates per 100 ml) when dissolved in 350 ml of water, allowing an optimal absorption of moisture, carbohydrates and minerals. The advantage of this gel is that it can be taken with or without water.

Technology

Preferred use: Etixx Isotonic Energy Gel is suitable for all athletes who need a quick fuel replenishment during prolonged efforts. Cyclists, triathletes, marathon runners ... Use this gel immediately before or during their endurance efforts. The gel also contains extra electrolytes and citrates, which makes it ideal in hot weather and for athletes who perspire heavily. Team athletes may also benefit from it during rest. It is recommended to drink sufficient water during exercise (at least 350ml to 700ml per hour) to avoid dehydration.

Recommended dose: Depleting carbohydrate stores during exercise is one of the main causes of fatigue. Carbohydrate supplementation before and during the effort can improve the (cycling) performance. If the effort lasts longer than 90 minutes, it is recommended to consume extra carbohydrates. It is recommended to consume approximately 1 to 2 energy gels per hour. Or, consume energy gels in combination with other sports nutrition products until an intake of 60 grams of carbohydrates per hour is reached. A common strategy is to consume energy gels during the more intense phases of exercise. The digestion process of energy gels requires less blood flow compared to other sports nutrition products.
