The Ultegra R8170 wheels achieve similar aerodynamic properties as the Dura Ace R9270 wheels. This is partly due to the rim profile of 21mm internally and an external rim width of 28mm. This makes it possible to mount tyres from 28mm to 62mm. The spokes and spoke pattern have been reinforced to increase stiffness in acceleration.
