The Shimano HG81 10 speed cassette is the SLX's MTB cassette. This cassette is suited for all Shimano 10 speed mountain bike and touring shifting groups.
The HG 81 SLX cassette uses Dyna-Sys technology. This means the teeth are grouped closer together, requiring less effort to shift. In addition, the sprockets are equipped with HyperGlyde technology, resulting in quieter shifting.
The Shimano XT HG95 chain is optimised for 10 speed Dyna-Sys (HG-X) drivetrains. The chain was designed specifically to withstand the most extreme circumstances. This makes it very suited for mountain bikes as well as touring bikes.
