Solid shoe for a wide foot

- Richard, 25 September, 2023

Strong shoe, on the first ride I had a sore spot where the top of the tongue rests against the instep, adjusting the buckle strap slightly and making the top buckle a little less tight remedied that

Pros & Cons

Available in width, for wide feet
Fit, slightly adjustable
Solid construction, solid closures
Stiff sole
Not cheap
Not the lightest shoe
Tongue hooks into instep, clip tongue above

Nice racing shoes with stiff sole and good adjustability

- Erwin, 18 June, 2023

Besides the nice look, also very good and stiff racing shoes! Very satisfied with them, although I need to touch up some pressure points after a few rides. Bought almost 2 sizes larger, shoes come out rel small. During running I do experience that these are a bit wobbly - fortunately cycling with them more :) - but takes some getting used to. Furthermore, the number of - stepless - adjustment possibilities is great and also unlocking goes very smoothly due to the pressure (red button) and unlocking system (press both black buttons at the same time); the wind system works very smoothly: turn and push lever down; The sole is very stiff but not bothersome; the shoe offers sufficient ventilation during the ride; have not had a sweltering feeling even on hot days. for now, very satisfied with it! Price is a bit of a problem, but soon forgotten...

Good quality and beautiful.

- Joost, 13 June, 2022

The shoe fits like a glove. I have narrow feet. They cycle much more comfortably than my previous shoes. The tongue bends over at the top and grabs into your instep and it hurts. It seems to pass and is part of settling in.

Pros & Cons

Comfortable
Good fit
Quality feel is high
The tongue of the shoe grips your instep

Comfortable, robust, stylish, good for wide feet

- Samuel, 19 October, 2021

I had a lot of trouble finding shoes that suited my very wide feet. After trying on and returning several pairs from different brands (I was able to take advantage of Mantel's return system, which worked perfectly), I found what I was looking for with the Sidi Ergo Mega version. I've already done 1,000 kilometres in them, including outings >3,000 D+, and they haven't caused me any pain. They're comfortable, hold the foot well and the tightening system is thin and solid. There are no pressure points: the fit is even. The heel is held firmly. The leather, too, exudes quality and reliability. The only negative point is that ventilation could be improved. With a black colour as well, hot summer days are likely to be tricky in terms of foot perspiration. Otherwise, in terms of performance, it's in line with the price range, although I've tested, for example, the van rysel in the same range, which offer much better performance.

Good shoes that I would recommend to people like me who have wide feet.

- René, 23 June, 2021

Shoes suitable for all outings, including the longest. No discomfort or pain. A word of warning for those who use look pedals with look grip cleats: friction may cause a squeaking noise.

Pros & Cons

Closures for a snug fit
Suitable for wide feet
Small pressure point on top
