Had these pedals installed on my recently purchased 2nd bike. Because they are nice little pedals and you can also grab the bike that way in between rides. Impossible to slip off the pedals.

Smooth rotation. Good grip with normal shoes due to supplied Allen screws. The tension for engaging the SPD pedals is set quite loosely at the factory, so it can be adjusted as desired.

difficult to find the right tension, too much...not enough, in short not easy. Robust, but on the other hand the paint comes off and the pedals rust. Practical as a flat pedal for the city!

Couple of years cycling without clickers because I didn't want my feet fixed. With climbing and speed you limit that anyway. With these clickers you are quickly attached and detached. So used to it and notice that cycling is much easier.

For me, the best pedal on the Gravel bike. Although the flat pedal side is relatively small, but still provides good grip. Note that you can use Shimano SPD clipless only with mountain bike shoes.

Very satisfied with my purchase. Delivery was fast. The pedals are of good quality and perfect for Gravel use in SPD and "relax" use with the side without cleats. Just perfect.

With these pedals, I've regained the confidence in the cleats that I'd lost during a crash. The mixed pedals allow me to launch and then put on the cleats, or switch back to the flat pedals when approaching a danger zone.

Pedals click in and out smoothly, also look nice. Personally, the maximum force for engaging and disengaging could be higher. Unfortunately the left pedal broke after 300km! Without having had rain. Given the predominantly excellent reviews perhaps a Monday morning model ... Hope this is an exception....

Right size under your shoe. Click pedal is good and if you don't want to cycle fixed you have good grip because of the pins. (It is a tinkering job to put them in yourself.)

After installation some practice, but this learns very quickly and easily. After first ride made small adjustment on "sensitivity" of disconnection. Now goes better and more natural.

In use on (cross) hybrid bike to replace Shimano M324. Better grip of pins on running shoes but pedals a bit narrow for size 44.5. Easy click in and out due to lighter spring in combination with multi-release plates. For city/road use fine but for gravel/MTB use the black plates. These have less problems with unwanted clicks.

Very good pedals to use with both SPD cleats for serious training sessions and regular shoes for errands and quick rides around town. Great build quality, and they look great too! Had (unfortunately) a bike crash last week and the left pedal absorbed most of the damage, only some scuffing on the outer side and still perfectly functional.

I have experience with the SPD combination pedals SPD from Shimano as I ride with both regular shoes and SPD clik pedals. This pedal always stays oriented with the right side up. My other PD-M324 SPD Combi Pedals always turned with the click side up which is annoying when riding with regular shoes. Nice color just be careful they are not black pedals as the picture seems to indicate.

Nicely designed with one side with flats and other with SPD. Had never used a set of SPD and felt a bit unsure to switch directly to an SPD or Look the. Already rode 3 times with those and fingers crossed no accident. Only it is bit tricky to switch in because there is only on one side the cleat, so not for the real experienced rider.

This is the pedal you want if you like to start in the world of clipless. The SPD is flawless, and the flat platform is the perfect size, and with the pins it offers excellent grip. It adds the flexibility of the flat platform for commuting days with the SPD clips for the long rides. The pedals are dark gray, in my opinion they would be better in a black colour.

Comfortable clip ins and suitable for trainers

Compared to my previous spd pedal, this one fits nicely on the shoe and I have a feeling of more control.

I bought the Shimano PD-EH500 as an upgrade to my Shimano PD-M324 pedals. The M324s were my first venture into the world of clipless pedals and I thought that they were great. I seriously considered another set for my new bike, but I opted for the EH500s instead and I'm glad I did. They are so easy to clip in and out of, you don't have to think about it. As for the platform side, it is very supportive and provides good feel when not clipped I'm, this is for both clip shoes and street shoes. The delivery from Mantel was very quick and the price was the best I could find for new pedals.

Flat on one side clip less on the other side. Light sturdy and well made

I have six bikes, (typical bloke) and all are equiped with Shimano A530 pedals so you can ride clipped or unclipped. However, when off road on either of my cross bikes or my E MTB, the A530 does not give safe un clipped grip, particularly in the wet. These Shimano PD-EH500 are a complete game changer and the un clipped grip is massively improved, even in the wet. There are times off road when I feel safer un clipped but still want to feel secure on the pedal platform and these pedals with screw in pins are a great improvement. I'm planning to improve the un clipped grip with new shoes that have a flatter sole to make better contact with the pins when funds (read Wife) allow but I do feel much safer with these pedals so far. Finally, the price from Mantel and the speed of delivery were first class. Very happy customer guys.

Always been concerned about using SPD's as Im a gravel/road cyclist and to be honest, take the odd silly risk. coupled with several mates falling off and bruising it was a hard decision. Lockdown has changed this as doing a lot of rolling road, this has given me a chance to try and practice, but to be honest the settings and ease of this pedal makes me wonder why I never tried before - set up release to ping with little twist and then tweak as you get used to it. Great pedal.

These pedals are high quality as with all shimano and make good transition pedals to spd or you can leave your bike open for either clip in or normal shoe riding

I am extremely pleased with these pedals ever since fitting them on my gravel bike. They are fairly light and are balanced very well so they do not swing round to one side each time you unclip. The SPD side works very well as to be expected with most Shimano SPD pedals. There is a large range of adjustment and the release mechanism is reliable. The platform side is a good size, and the 16 screw-in pins provide more than enough grip when riding with non-cleated shoes. Couldn't recommend these more. I would recommend the upgrade over the PDA530 pedals if you want a bit more grip on the platform sides too.

Leaving this review based on the speedy delivery alone as I have not set up these pedals yet but feel very well made. Great gunmetal color. Not super light but that doesn't bother me feel like that will last. Speedy delivery to the UK on the third working day. We will definitely be ordering again for future parts and accessories.

I now have 3 sets of these pedals for my bikes. They are so straightforward to use and I love the double sided aspect so I can use them to pop to the shops if needed. This is the first time I have used Mantel. The product range is very good, the price is unbeatable and the service and delivery is again exceptional. I would use again without hesitation.

Great quality and design. Well made and looks good. SPD works well as expected. The flat side is good for limited time pedalling but it's a bit small and doesn't grip as well as a dedicated big MTB flat pedal, but that is to be expected. If you alternate on a ride between road and forest trails etc then this is the best option out there.

I was a bit hesitant about dual pedals and not sure if these were right for a Mtb. Having fitted them and tried the with both spd and flat shoes I would highly recommend them. Spd locks in solid and releases easily enough and the flat side has loads of grip. I also thought it would be a pain having to constantly flip the pedal round the right way but that doesn't seem to be the case, it seems to be the right way most of the time.

Great all round pedal. Easy to assemble and fit. Also3easy to adjust clip in tension. This pedal offers best of both worlds with mountain bike micro spd clip in or flat side with raise grub screws for trainers. To be honest I bought these for my new grail bike as already have them on my old mountain bike and road bike.

Great pedals but when wearing flat shoes they are a bit too narrow for those with Yeti feet i;e me. When riding with clips though this isn't an issue. All in all great pedals and glad I bought them.

I bought these pedals for my partner who is keen to progress to using cleats but she doesn't want to lose the ability to hop on her bike just wearing trainers. Having SPD on one side and a flat but grippy surface on the other then these pedals offer the best of both worlds. The pedals are weight biased so they naturally sit with the SPD side upwards and are easily flipped over when wearing non-bike shoes.

Love the A530s but they're lethal in the wet. The studs on the EH500 solve that problem and make these the perfect all-round pedal if you use your bike for a variety of activites. They're not particularly heavy but if Shimano want to make a lightweight version, they can have my money!

This pedal is great for touring bikes, bike-packers and commuters. Jump on your bike and go, one side grips any shoe you happen to be wearing when you run out the door to nip down the shops to “get yer messages”. Pedals are great, light and easy to engage. The flats are much improved over the old model, with proper screw studs supplied which grip really well in wet conditions. While I don't care much for appearance, be aware that predictably the grey colour paint starts to come off after, literally, the first ride.
