Magura MT5 NEXT

I replaced the guides with the Magura mt5 and immediately I found an unexpected feeling. The modulability allows the wheel not to lock under braking while for the front brake it takes a while to understand the limit, however great power... I shortened the pipes and had to remove some oil from the system because it was too reactive for the way I ride. Excellent value for money.

Great Brakes, but the brake leavers are too big, planning to replace the levers to 1 finger levers

Very solid construction... But the ebt bleed bolt's break off very easily, broke 2 during filling. Unfortunately nowhere is it mentioned that you have to cut the hose to size yourself.

Don’t hesitate in buying these brakes. I replaced my sram Guide R’s with them and they are worlds apart. Simple fitting and bleeding

Great value for money, lightweight and brilliant stopping power. Only thing I would change is the plastic master cylinder/ lever housing,seems like it could be easy to strip the threads when tightening it up and bleeding the brakes. All in all really happy with them

All the adjustment you could need at a great price! Very progressive, don’t fly you over the bars with the slightest pull, will stop a fatty no problem!

Coming from Saints I wanted something equally as powerful but with maybe a bit more control, once set up these definitely deliver. Only downside is the lever is so big moving the shifters around to get the right position.

Plenty of stopping power at the sacrifice of a premium look, feel and feature set. Long and flexy feeling 2 finger lever blades, plasticy feel and lack of adjustments cut costs, very wide lever blades reel a little odd, but at the end of the day they're powerful brakes which just work. Great budget options for a big rider or big bike

A good upgrade in comparison to my old brakes, mounting the bikes to the bike was straight forward - recommend.

I love it. Such a powerful brake, feels really solid and looks great too! A solid performer and a great price from Mantel. Will be buying another one soon to replace my ageing Magura Marta rear brake.

Amazing brake easy to cut, bleed and fit to the bike. Brake worked great when new but even better once bedded in. My first 4 piston brake and wouldn't go back to 2.

Even when bedding in they seem miles better than the standard shimano deores.

After running avids, shimano and hopes I thought I would try these. Amazing stopping power easy to setup. Looks good too. I run them on my all mountain bike. Looking to buy another set for the DH bike. Also a great price from mantel.

I wanted to upgare from Shimano M615 and come to conclusion that MT5s or Guide SCR will do the job. Have chosen MT5s because Mantel has good deal on them and they come with 5 years warranty. And no more messing around with DOT fluid. The only negative thing to mention so far is that they don't come with pad retaining pins so if you want to use aftermarket split pads (for MT7) you have to get the pins separately or get genuine (and expensive) pads first, which come with he pins.

Ordered on a Black Friday promo, item was dispatched within hours and delivered in 3 days using tracked DPD. The item itself was well packaged and included the spares and tools required to trim the hose and fit. The caliper and parts were fitted following Magura's excellent videos and did not need bleeding. Even before bedding the pads the stopping power and modulation is excellent. Buy with confidence.
