Giro Synthe MIPS

As a novice to road cycling, I was shocked but not surprised at the average cost of the higher end helmets on the market. Thankfully Mantel had the Synthe MIPS at a much lower price and the delivery process was faultless. So far I am amazed at the Synthe, it is so lightweight that I forget it is on my head. It fits perfectly with the adjustment of the rear Roc-Loc system, and provides an ample level of ventilation. The only qualm I have is that the Synthe feels rather delicate and is quite prone to scratching so is best to take care when storing it.

Tried a variety of helmets in recent years but this is my second Synthe - looks great but also functions really well - so comfortable wearing on long rides is not a problem. Great price from Mantel as well and quick delivery.

My only criticism is the very thin brow pad, which allows sweat to drip down. I swapped in a Bontrager Ballista pad. Now the helmet is 10/10.

The Giro Synthe MIPS is an excellent helmet all round but is especially airy for those hot days. It's a little too airy for colder days and long speedy descents but you can always wear a cap on those occasions.

Love the fit of the Synth, you forget it's even there it's so light. Airflow isn't that noticeable, but I've certainly not overheated so it must be more than adequate. The sweatband at the front is good quality and comfy.I hope I'm never able to review how it protects my head.

A great cycle helmet that not only performs well but also looks good. Would recommend to any cyclists thinking about upgrading from a cheaper helmet to a mid range one. Enjoy.

I've tried other helmet brands but I always return to whipping out my Giros because they fit so well, they're light, comfortable and look the dogs danglies! And a Synthe at this price? No brainer. Thanks.

Lightweight, comfortable, well vented and a good fit. I had high hopes for the Synthe but it’s exceeded them in every way. Really, really pleased with it and the price and customer service was superb as well!

The Giro Synthe MIPS is lightweight and comfortable. It is easily adjustable and does not move about during the ride. I would highly recommend it especially for the price.

Best helmet I’ve ever owned. Lightweight, greatest of quality build, beautiful to look at and already in love with it. Everything you need in a helmet, good aero features but also great for climbing or casual riding. It’s so comfy you don’t even notice you’re wearing a helmet.

I own the pervious incarnation of this helmet without MIPS, I’ve had it about 3 years and love it especially If you’re someone like me who sweats a lot on hills I thought it would be good to upgrade to MIPS. A very comfy fit. Plenty of vents to keep you cool. This helmet is pretty compact as well, you won’t look like Aliens vs Predator as with the specialised evade (the evade is a great helmet but looks goofy)

I spent a lot of time researching which helmet to buy and eventually chose the Synthe based on looks, safety (MIPS) and good reviews. The helmet is very comfortable and light. You can barely tell you’re wearing it. Airflow appears good although the weather has not yet fully warmed up. I had not heard of Mantel before and bought based on their Trustpilot review. They were considerably cheaper than elsewhere and the helmet was delivered from Holland very quickly. I would definitely use them again.

After using the Giro Savant (which is also pretty good for the money) for about 8 years, but the Synthe is a total revelation in terms of lightness and comfort. You really notice it on the longer rides.

Have researched all the top helmets over the last 3 months and this got top reviews. I now know why ; looks good,feels good , light and airy and quality. Service from Mantel was excellent. Took 4 days only to be shipped from Holland- was kept informed everyday of delivery status - brilliant.

Iconic design and best compliment of all, I just forget about it when riding, such is the comfort and lightness.

Love this helmet as it's really light and comfortable. This is my second Giro Synthe MIPS helmet, i bought my first one last year and it has been the best helmet i've purchased, the only reason i've bought another one so soon is because i had a bad accident in my bike 5 weeks ago. I landed on my head and shoulder, and i believe if it wasn't for the MIPS i would have came a lot worse off (maybe wouldn't be here now) Just a pity i can't say the same for my shoulder though.

Light weight. Good adjustability. Comfortable but a bit warmer than the my old helmet. Difficult to judge the aero claims. The MIPS internals appear to add adjustability.

Wanted to replace my old Giro helmet as it was getting tired was pleased with the first so decided to stick with the same make my head side is 55cm right on the change from small to medium decided to go with the medium same as my first Giro this allows space for head gear in the colder times. The Synthe feels light, fits me very nice even with the lack of padding it still quite comfortable would recommend but not cheap shopped around Mantel was buy far the cheapest fast delivery

Truly outstanding aero helmet. I bought the large flouro/white version. It is stylish, light, very comfortable indeed and offers the best protection available. I have cycled for years with the Giro Savant and the Synthe MIPS is a big step up. The straps are lighter, thinner and less intrusive in feel. It is easy to adjust and is low profile with good ventilation. What is not to like? Top job!!

Bought this helmet to replace the very good Specialized Prevail which I have had for 5 years. It's a very good helmet both in comfort and looks. Would even go as far as saying there appears to be less wind noise with this helmet compared to the Prevail. Very happy with it and would recommend it to others.

The new Giro Synthe MIPS helmet is not only one of the lightest and best fitting helmets on the market it is also one of the safest. Looks great and feels great. The new adjustment system is a dream and the straps are extremely comfortable. There are enough colour ways to satisfy all tastes. Highly recommended.

Very impressed, I tend to overheat on the climbs but the ventilation in this helmet is great and the fit is superb. Apart from the cost it's a great helmet.

Expensive yes.... well depends on how much you value your safety!. This helmet ticks all the boxes for me in regards to fit, comfort, style and of course safety, if your race hardy and take your cycling seriously then this is the helmet for you.

The synthe MIPS looks brilliant. Just looking at this helmet you can see how the air can flow straight through to keep your head well ventilated. It's very easily adjusted for a snug fit and with the addition of the MIPS makes you feel confident your head is well protected.

Surprised at how large the helmet is when unpacking but once on your head you don't notice the bulk at all. Adjustment is excellent and the "cage" works to keep you cool.

good looking helmet and very well ventilated.most comfortable i have ever used and its easy to forget its on.the area to keep your glasses when not being used is a handy bonus too.if i had to be very picky for a downside i would guess that this will be cold come winter but with the flexible fit it will easily allow a cap or hat underneath.pricey but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

I have been using Giro helmets since the early 90s and always found them a really good fit. I went for the MIPS version to take advantage of the latest safety features.
