excellent winter trousers

- Massimo, 6 January, 2024

Trousers used for cycling trips of 1 to 2 hours in 5 to 10 degrees. I stay warm even with lots of rain and strong wind (do have mudguards on the bike). Trousers fall small: normally size M, now size L.

Fine trousers for cold days

- Stijn, 15 December, 2023

Fine trousers, nice and warm. Waterproof. Zip in the bottom so easy to put on. Like everything from Castelli, it falls very small and I would order 2 sizes larger.

Pros & Cons

Fine material
Nice and warm
Fits small like everything from Castelli.

Fine pants, elastic around the knee area. Not suitable for tall people

- Thomas, 16 May, 2023

With my 1.96cm, these pants are just barely on. If you wear short socks, your ankle will be visible though. With a weight of 100kg, size 3XL is ok, the shoulder straps may be on the tight side, but I don't experience it as annoying. If you are taller or weigh more, I would go for another brand e.g. Craft or Rogelli. The pants have a zipper at the ankles, I experience this as very pleasant because the pants are easier to put on and take off. The chamois is very good, it slides to the right place so it is actually always in the right place. Suitable for rides of about 3 hours.

Pros & Cons

Fine chamois
Lots of freedom of movement around the knees
Nice quality
Not suitable for tall people

An excellent poduct that meets expectations.

- Gerben, 7 February, 2023

I have had the pants on several rides now at temps between 0 and 8 degrees. Even during the cold rides, the pants kept me sufficiently warm. The fit and chamois are fine. The sizing is Italian so please choose one size bigger.

Warm, dry, comfy.

- Ray, 11 February, 2022

First up my measurements - height: 180cm, weight: 77kg, waist: 89cm, hips: 97cm, inseam 83cm, chest: 109cm. I bought size L and they fit perfectly. Went on a 50k 6 degree spin, with couple of rain showers and I was warm and comfy throughout. The reflective ankle bands are a nice feature - when not wearing overshoes obvs. Quality is as per Castelli standards.

Good winter trousers lesser chamois.

- Nils, 12 December, 2021

These trousers are very warm waterproof and for me a great fit. But I found the chamois very uncomfortable, even had red stretch marks on my legs after longer rides (+3 hours). so after using these trousers for a year, I decided to switch to assos as I did for my summer trousers and the chamois upgrade is evident.

Expected more from the chamois (in terms of price)

- Cor, 12 January, 2021

Trousers fit fine, in terms of fit good trousers. The chamois is really disappointing for this price. I ride long rides but this chamois is not made for that. I am wearing the old Castelli trousers again, which are (still) better in terms of chamois

Pros & Cons

good fit

Very fine autumn/winter trousers

- Martijn, 2 December, 2020

I have now done about 5/6 rides with these cycling trousers in different weather conditions (0 degrees - 12 degrees). Really enjoyable. Feels like a second skin and hardly feels like cycling with long trousers. The chamois also meets expectations so far. I normally ride with Assos trousers in summer, but the chamois of this Castelli is also of good quality. The reflection at the bottom is a nice detail, but since I (and probably many with me) wear overshoes in this kind of temperature, it adds little.

Good quality kit

- Chris, 18 November, 2020

Castillo are not the cheapest but well worth the extra cash. Superb fit with great comfort. Bought for the cooler weather and certainly meet their specifications, particularly the ability to repel water. Kept dry during a heavy downpour.

Pros & Cons

Good insulation for cooler conditions
Great fit
Water repellent
Expensive but worth the extra

Fine autumn trousers

- Ingmar, 16 November, 2020

Very good bib for autumn. Keeps water out for the most part and is warm enough for Dutch autumn. If it starts freezing I suspect it will be just a bit too cold but how often does that happen these days, so winter will also be largely doable with these bibs. When opening the packaging, I thought the chamois seemed a bit minimal but after a few rides I always sit just fine, so only praise for that too. Reflective ends of the trouser legs are easily visible without being spiteful. The trousers are a bit pricey, but there are certainly more expensive ones and you really get quality in return. All in all very satisfied and quick delivery from Mantel.

Pros & Cons

Top product

- Jan, 30 October, 2020

I bought these after first buying other product which I unfortunately had to return due to fit/size. This product is top notch as it is water repellent, has already proven itself, not too warm/fuzzy and is incredibly comfortable. Ideal for people of my height, 173 cm, just like all other Castelli products :-)

Top product and the size recommendation is just right

- Theo, 29 October, 2020

Trousers fit like a glove, nice and tight. I have now cycled once in rain and stayed dry. Haven't experienced real cold yet, at 10° they were not too warm.

Pros & Cons

Feels great (let t freeze!!!)
I am short (1.65) and the M was fine in terms of length.
I am wide and the M is just right.
The trousers are waterproof and warm
Above 12° I prefer to take shorts
Pay attention to sizing: M is for little ones....
