According to the product specialist

Pros
The Garmin Rally XC powermeter is specially designed for mountain bikers and is compatible with Shimano SPD cleats.
The Garmin Rally XC measures advanced data, including power and performance analysis, cadence and left-right balance.
The sensor shaft can be transferred to other versions of the Rally (RS or RK) and Vector 3 pedals.
Full integration with the Garmin Ecosystem, including Garmin Connect, Edge cycling computers and Garmin sports watches.
The Garmin Rally XC powermeter is available in a single-sided version and a double-sided version for the most advanced and accurate measurements.
This power meter is accurate under all conditions, adapts to temperature changes and calibrates automatically while cycling.
Because of its sturdiness and high waterproofing, this power meter is very suitable for mountain biking.
The carbon crank arms are light and stiff.
This power meter measures the power on both sides and is therefore very accurate.
The chain line is adapted to mountain bikes with a 148 mm Boost installation width.
The position in the crankshaft increases the reliability of the powermeter.
The power meter is well protected against water, sand and mud.
The AA battery has a long life span.
The 3rd generation Stages power meters offer a 6 x stronger signal reception for bicycle computers.
Easy pairing via Bluetooth or ANT+.
Highly water resistant with an IPX7 seal of approval.
The battery has a life of approximately 175 hours.
Cons
The Garmin Rally XC power meter has no internal battery, so you will need to replace the button cell batteries from time to time.
With a smaller installation width than 148 mm, the chain line can be less than optimal. However, this may differ per model.
This crank can only be used with a single chain ring, not with a double.
Only compatible with Sram GXP mtb cranksets.
